Default High demand for 997 Turbos

Looks like 997 Turbos are selling well. I got a text from the dealer that they sold all of their 997 Turbos this past week. I then went on eBay, and to my surprise, the 6 or 7 turbos I saw two weeks ago are all gone.

Interesting observation. I do feel like I've noticed recently a handful of threads where the OP is seriously considering, or ends up buying, a TT for what I think most would agree is "over market."

Interesting, because dealers still seem to be making low ball trade-in offers from what I've been seeing here - ~ $60k for 997.1 manuals and $80k for 997.2s. There are so little 997.2 manuals, you would think dealers would make a reasonable offer because they can likely sell them for a hefty margin. Especially if what the dealers are saying about demand is true.

There's a broker in NY who just bought 2 997.2 manuals he is currently selling and not showing the price. I had inquired about the GT3 he was selling and he was low on a trade estimate for my Turbo so I passed.

Turbos seem to have an ebb and flow of their own. Every couple/few years or so I notice that a major North East dealers buys all the turbos in sight and they sell in a day or two!

Well-optioned ones and those with reasonable mileage are becoming more difficult to find.

I believe the prices reflect this artifact. With the historical significance of the Metzger, the size and classic looks of the 997, you just can't go wrong.

The manuals are more challenging to find but if you're looking for an auto, there are plenty down here (Southern region).

I was at the dealer today in my filthy turbo to schedule some service on my macan s, two sales guys approached me about trading it or selling outright. They're looking for low mi manuals according to these guys.
i predicted in another thread that this will be the year you see the prices bump up.

I was talking to a dealer in South Cal that just listed that day a 2012 997.2 MT turbo coupe. $90k. 26k miles. Black on black. As I was talking to the sales lady and making arrangements for a PPI she i informed me that someone had just walked in and bought the car.

Ive pretty much given up on finding a reasonable deal.

There is a 2011 TTS in Mexico blue but it’s a cab and obviously pdk being the ‘s’. But nice color. I’m tempted by it but then think that it’s the opposite of a manual coupe and I’m just getting impatient and should hold out. I just don’t see the pdk cabs holding value so well. Any thoughts?

I reckon it is inevitable that the prices will increase, especially for the MT cars.
My guide is the UK piston heads site, because you can't buy one now for what you could 3 years ago.
I say yay!

I also notice a bump across the board, but maybe it's spring coming?

Although I have also received a couple calls from my local dealer asking to buy my car. Yeah right! Low ball offer probably

My dealer is always asking about my TTS. He wants to be first in line if I ever decide to sell. IMO, all 997 models are increasing in value but it also comes down to coupe, cab, MT, Tip, PDK and mileage. Options are only gingerbread and don't add very much value.

What would a mint 2008 6sp coupe roughly 14000miles
black on black with all records from Porsche go for.
Oh and all maintenance done including pinning new tires
plugs expansion tank sharkwerks elbows clutch slave and accumulator
All original parts saved even plugs.
Only aftemark are spring and spacers and exhaust tips.

Might consider selling really want a gt3.

I think main exceptions to options impacting price are PTS (interesting/rare colors), carbon GT2 $port $eats, and PCCB.

Obviously it's also feasible to add/change certain factory options as I've done with the XPA steering wheel and 220 LSD on my car, but that definitely costs more than ticking the box upon initial purchase.
