First Porsche ever - 991.2 GTS - Color Madness
Hi everybody,
after years of dreaming I am finally right before ordering my first Porsche 911 - a 991.2 GTS RWD Cab.
I spent a lot of time during the last few weeks reading in this forum about must have equipment and also everything related to colors and PTS.
But actually especially the color decision is driving me crazy.
If I would go for a GT3 I would probably choose a bold color. If I would go for a Turbo I would choose a less inconspicuous color. But with the GTS I personally feel being between both worlds - bold and inconspicuous.
So far I have narrowed down the color options to Graphite Blue Metallic, Lava Orange or Birch Green/Lichtgruen (PTS, uni, color code 253). Any thoughts about this three colors and even other options of maybe combining bold and inconspicuous in one color are highly appreciated. I also like the idea of having a color which is not so common.
Thank you very much for your input!

If you can get PTS, then Birch Green is an excellent color. Here is another nice one:

Please not another silver, black, or white. I’ve had Racing Yellow and Guards Red and both are very nice.

In bold colors I dig:
Tangerine (70s Orange)
Mexico Blue
Signal Green
Speed Yellow
In conservative Colors I dig:
Diamond Blue Metallic
Yachting Blue
Polar Silver
GT Silver
Just my 10 bits.

Carmine Red is less "in your face" than Guards, but still bold, and much less common than black/white/silver.
It's also really close to Ferrari Rosso Corsa, which is my favorite sports car color of all time.

IMO for something bold and inconspicuous at the same time I would go with a red or green
- Carmine Red (non PTS)
- Arena Red Metallic (PTS - my favorite PTS color)
- British Racing Green (PTS)
- Oak Green Metallic (PTS)

It’s your car so whatever appeals to you. I have Graphite Blue and I’m pretty partial to it because it looks so different in daylight vs night. Lava Orange... I’m a sucker for ALL of the orange hues. If you are going PTS, your options open up considerably. There are so many blues to like, and I am particularly fond of Signal Yellow. So many to choose from.
There is a post on this forum featuring a rendering of Oak Green and it is stunning.

This is a great question. I would suggest finding those colors on the dealer lot and take several looks at them. I owned a 991.1 GTS in lava orange. Overall a very cool color and gets tons of looks. One thing that bothered me about it was that it was too salmon at times. I always wished it more like the BMW M3 orange from several years ago. I now have graphite blue on my 991.2 and sometimes I like it and sometimes I don't. I like it more in the sun but not so much in the dark. Both of these colors are somewhat unique - I do see graphite blue a lot more than lava orange.
If I were in your position I'd get carmine red or carrera white.
