Default 2018 GTS vs 2018 GT3 road course who wins?

Both Loaded 2018 GTS (USA) 160 grand 2018 GT3 210 grand. I mention road course as it apply's to lots of curves minimal top end strait away's so to be fair that the GTS has no wing. I believe they are both equal no matter what motor lie's in it.. Save 60 grand? (USA does not have the touring and or prices so try not to enter that car here to keep it simple)

Driver and course dependent, is my guess.

Who is having more fun is probably driver and course dependent, too...but, having driven both, I'd put my money on the GT3.

German Sport Auto had both the 2018 GTS and 2018 GT3 on the Hockenheim short course (though not at the same time). GTS did 1:08.0min, GT3 .1:07.9. GTS was on P Zero Corsa. So, on equal/similar tires on a short road course = driver's race. On the Nordschleife the difference the difference is more like 10sec (work's drivers in both cars).

Having driven both at Silverstone i would pick the gen 2 GT3.However when i drove them the GTS was on Pirellis P Zeros which i managed to shred in no time at all whereas the GT3 was Michelin Cup 2s N1 which could take the punishment and instilled confidence..The superior torque of the GTS gives it a big advantage over the 991.1 GT3 out of corners but the gen 2 GT3 seems to have plenty torque to power out of corners. The PDKS on the latest GT3 with close ratios and no overdrive 7th does negate a lot of the GTS's torque advantage.
On a tight snaky uphill course the GTS would gain ground IMO.Put the GT3 tyres on the GTS along with PCCBs,RWS and buckets and it would be so close its the driver which would be the deciding factor..A manual, steel braked non RAS GTS wouldn't see which way the GT3 went.
In a nutshell the GTS would need a lot of options fitted to make it a fair contest..

If you have to ask get the GT3 - you'll regret it later. Even if it was slower; which I believe it is not.

I mentioned 'fully loaded' in the USA that means every option. The GTS USA options up ceramic brakes so short of a having a wing and a set of Cup 2's, the cars are equal at a tight track (60 grand difference) proven right from above threads...

Equal per spec sheet or lap times is a very different thing to equal per experience.

And even as a fan of the 991.2 3.0-liter flat six, the 991.2 GT3 utterly shreds it in terms of experience.

Here's how I'd analyze this decision:

Money no object? Get the GT3
Going to track the car? Get the GT3
No to either of those questions? Get the GTS

By the by, you can get a GTS C2 coupe up to $211,455 (I love seeing how expensive I can build a Porsche on the configurator).

A GT3 fully loaded is actually a couple grand less.

If you do quickest spec to quickest spec, it’s $159,060 for a GT3 with buckets ($5200) and PCCB and $139,620 for a GTS with PCCB, RAS, PDDC, PDK. Back out the buckets on a GT3 as you can’t get them on a GTS and it is $153,860 - $139,620 (for a GTs) = $14,240. Add a grand for the gas guzzler on a PDK GT3.

i am not sure PDCC makes it quicker or not, but I included it.

PDCC does make the car faster around a race track.

But I'd never order it in a 991.

When I was shopping for CPO cars I really wanted PASM Sport but didn’t care one way or another for PDCC.

OP - are you basing a purchasing decision off of a road course lap time? As others have alluded to, even with equal lap times the experience could be totally different.

It's not the destination, but the journey Two different machines to get you from A to B at the same time.

If it's just conjecture/debate, it is fun to theorize on and says a lot about the GTS that it can keep with the legendary GT3..
