Back in a 997
I haven't been on here in many years, as I was driving a Ferrari F430. I got a little bored with the Ferrari and F1 transmission, and I missed driving my prior Porsche -- 997S manual. I recently decided to make a switch back to Porsche and just purchased a 2008 Turbo cab with manual transmission. I haven't taken delivery of the car yet, but here are some pictures from the dealer.

Welcome back, nothing like German engineering in my book.
Sharp looking Cab. Perfect for those warm (usually) sunny days in Southwest Florida!

Cant blame you on that one. Ive been thru a cycle of ferrari cars like scud, spec and F430, and I am on my 3rd 997 TT.

Thanks guys for the warm welcome. I enjoyed the Ferrari for a while, but even for a 2005 model, I was getting way too much attention, which I didn't like. I like to drive my cars, but taking the Ferrari anywhere was becoming a bit of a nuisance. Plus, I found the F1 transmission didn't give me the connection with the vehicle you can get with a manual. I was going to get a 991 turbo, but I learned it doesn't come in a manual. So my search began for a 997. I will take pictures once I receive the car and write a proper review. Cheers!

The 997 Turbo was delivered today from NC. I did a quick check of the body and wheels and then took it for a spin, even though we have light snow in NY today. The car drove nicely, and the gears shifted easily. All the memories of my 2007 997S came back though this car has a lot more power. I drove it home, and played around with the stereo, seat settings, etc., with the engine turned off. I then went to start the car and the battery appeared to be drained -- probably from sitting undriven at the dealer and in the cold car transport. I jump-started the car and it's idling now. Hopefully it was just the drained battery and nothing more serious. The car will go to our Porsche dealership for a once over. I'll install the new rims with snow tires afterwards. Pictures to come.
