Default Parcel Shelf Protection

Usually this forum comes up with creative ideas (far exceeding mine).

I am taking delivery of a new C2S today and will never use the rear seats - they will be folded down all the time for storage. What are people using to protect the carpeting on those seat backs? It would be nice if Weathertech made a mat but they don't.

I'm thinking beach towel unless others have come up with better solutions.

Thanks.
Tim

Tim, I think Lloyds makes a very nice carpet mat. I need to search some old posts. Pictures have been posted.

Another thought is, do you have deviated seat belts? I do (silver) and keep them buckled in the back so you can actually see them. Just another way to dress up the back seats.

Have fun picing up your new car.

Here is one from Lloyd’s. Not as many $$$’s as Suncoast. I think they look good.

I've got CocoMats. If you get the original type they are very very heavy. I doubt it would move around back there. I got one for my frunk. Coco had never done a 991 frunk so they went to a dealership and measured it. Now that's service. Just tell 'em what you want.

I have a Lloyd's mat to cover my rear seats but now only use that one in the winter, and a custom cocomat to match my front cocomats in the summer. With the targa, the Lloyds mats flies around with the top down, which is why I went the cocomats route for the summer. Cocomats version is much heavier than Lloyds version and it stays in place even with the top down.

Default Lloyd mats for shelf and rear seats

Thought a picture of an actual installation would be helpful. This is the Lloyds package shelf and rear seat mats installed on 991.2 CS

That mat looks so good it makes me want to fold my seats down.

Might be fun to get it done with "turbo Carrera" like the 3.0-liter 930 of 1975-1977...though I'd probably only do it in black on black as a subtle wink.

+1 for Lloyd. I have their mats in all of my cars.

The Lloyd factory is in Chatsworth, CA, about a 10 minute drive from my house. Lloyd produce a far better than OEM quality product and their customer service is outstanding. I was the first one to order new mats for our 2018 Audi SQ5, and there was a problem with the mats since Lloyd didn't realize that the SQ5 (in addition to the Q5) had been completely redesigned for 2018. I went over to the shop, they used my SQ5 for measuring, and they were so appreciative, they threw in a cargo area mat for my troubles. Can't say enough good things about them.
