Default 993 twists on a Cayenne???

As I have been looking at buying a '08 Turbo I plan to have snows for it also. With that being said I have some old 18" 993 twists and some 19" Lobster Claws from a 996/7. Anyone have them or tried them on just for kicks? They are staggered, but I can fit the same size tires as needed.

Thoughts?

I wouldn't. I doubt that they are strong enough.

A Cayenne weighs well over 5k#.

How much do the 993 or the 996 weigh?

Or to put it a slightly different way:

How much do those wheels weigh?
Compare that to the weight of an average Cayenne wheel.

FWIW, the 928s have rather "deep" offset requirements. Both Panamera wheels and Cayenne wheels will work. Panamera wheels are a popular choice (usually available cheap as "take-offs"). Cayenne wheels are almost never used because they are considered 'too heavy'.

I'd advise against this. The Cayenne is simply too heavy. Not what OP wants to hear - but I'm just being straight-up. The 955 Cayenne Turbo has been known to severely warp OEM Sport Design 20" wheels, even under "normal" use...

3-4000 lbs. Oh well, figured I'd use them if I could. Guess I'll go looking for some 18"+ Cayenne specific wheels

If your 993 turbo twists are original units and have the hollow spoke technology, they're worth a lot of coin.

Nah, solid spoke wheels. If they were hollow they'd be gone...

DANGER!!!! The 911 wheels are not properly load rated for the Cayenne, there is about a 2,000 difference in vehicle weight so do not do this, there are plenty of options.

You can sell the sets you have and purchase a nice set that is designed for your Cayenne, here is an example of what we have available right now:

Genuine Porsche wheels $799/set plus shipping

Genuine Porsche wheels in SILVER finish and matching center caps.

Porsche 10-spoke factory wheels removed from a 2012 Cayenne, no warranty on tires, they are free and bare no
value on this listing, if you want the tires they are yours for free.
18x8 et. 53

PORSCHE WHEELS that work with your factory lugs and center caps.

These are made from Aluminum Alloy (CENTER CAPS ARE INCLUDED AS SEEN)

How about Toureg and Q7 wheels?

How's the 18" fit on an '08 Turbo?
