Thinking about a 2013 911 Carrera S. Need some advice please.
I'm thinking about a 2013 Carrera S. It is Porsche certified with 37,000 km on the odo. The only potential issue is that it has gone through 5 owners during its short life. Normally that is a red flag and seems to suggest a lemon.
However, I am not really that familiar with 911s and whether there are any kind of common problems which would force people to keep selling the car. Are there any things I should be on the look out for?
Also, can anyone give me a realistic cost of ownership per year in terms of maintenance? Thank you!

I’d say a small discount/ negotiation room should be included because of that but maybe not huge.
My only worry would be does it have full leather? If not the door cards will warp and if you don’t get goodwill assistance from Porsche you’re effed.
Also unless the color and transmission are exactly what you want, I’d wait for that to come along.

Okay thanks for the tip. Can't figure out if it has full leather from the dealership listing. Will have to wait to see the window sticker.
Color and transmission are both perfect though.

Post the VIN from the dealer listing. You can use the VIN decoder to figure out all the options.

Great color, great wheels. Don't love that double spoiler set up, but that is a personal taste. I'd ask for the car's service history, maybe you can figure out why it had 5 previous owners.

Yeah that's my plan. Hopefully there is a service history to look at. If not then it's best to move on I guess. And yeah the double spoiler is kind of weird. But it's my favourite color and my preferred transmission.

Go visit the HFS thread, you will get a good idea on values and what is available. Good luck and enjoy the hunt.

Yeah I've had a look through it. Somewhat hard to judge the Canada/USA difference. I've just been doing the currency conversion to have an idea. Canada is a smaller market though.

So yeah doesn't look like full leather... I don't regret buying my car even with the door problem, but just understand that the warping is something that will happen and if it's out of warranty you'll have to deal with the hassle of begging for goodwill replacement.
I'd plan to budget around $1k for a Sport Design steering wheel too, not as critical since it's not PDK and you won't have to deal with those horrid buttons but the SD wheel just looks so much better and it's where you're looking the whole time.

Okay that's good to know. I'll have to do some more thinking. I currently have a 2012 Mustang GT/CS that is in pristine condition, and I would be trading it in. I've never bought a used car before, but I cannot afford a brand new 911. Somewhat leery of buying a used sports car though. Kind of a catch-22.

I don't have any regrets. I looked a long time, but I finally found what I wanted and it's been great (991 C2 7MT). I really enjoy having a 911 for the summer. Good luck with your search.
ps Pics of the Mustang please!

Yeah, the 911 has been my childhood dream car for a while. It is tied with the Mustang. The pony was a much easier dream to achieve though. I think the main thing I'll miss is the V8 rumble. Nothing can quite replace that.
