Does anyone still track their 997.2 RS?

There are a few 997 RS out there still. Just had mine on the track for 3 days a week ago. They're just too much damn fun to NOT drive in anger and you cannot enjoy these cars on the street.

Just having a look over the GPS data, something that's interesting is that compared with my old 991 RS... In gear the acceleration of the two cars is almost identical, within 1km/h through 2nd, 3rd, 4th. But then the 997.2 loses out on the gear shifts as expected. then in 5th-6th gear over 220km/h it starts pulling away from the 991 RS. Given there was a bit of a tail wind yesterday, it's quite impressive how fast the old car is at higher speeds. I guess less drag?

Interesting. Seems the opposite of what (at least from what I have seen) normally happens. I would expect the first part of the car's life to be spent in a collector's dark garage, and when he gets bored of it, he then sells it to an enthusiast who wrenches on it and tracks it in it's later years. That is at least what I have seen with many other performance cars.

How are the times compared with the 991 rs?

It was about 1.5 seconds off but wasn't pushing it as hard through the faster corners. Mainly losing time under brakes and the faster corners. I still haven't changed pads/fluid nor touched the alignment like I had in my 991...
