Default 997 GT3RS to 991.GT3 touring?

I have RS with less than 10K miles and I might get the allocation for GT3 at MSRP.
I can not have both. Will you trade in?
I have been to porsche driving school 4 times so that I could take my car to the track but it has never happened.
i guess gt3 (touring package ?) might fit better for me.

I wouldn't. RS is RS. Mezger is Mezger.

Will be taking my RS for the first time this year to the track next month. That hasn't prevented me to thoroughly enjoy it on curvy roads for thousands of miles up until this point.

But to each his own.

Would not either - unless you have to use as a daily driver.

What are you expecting out of the Touring GT3 that you don't get from your RS?

3 times my dealer offered me an allocation for a GT3 but he wanted my RS.
I politely declined the unsolicited offer.

I again had a text from them again last week out of the blue.

I would like to test drive one and maybe if I can add it later.

Honestly, I was more interested when the 991.1 GT3 came out and I ordered one. After 4 months, I sold it.

I realize after that, they wont build another car like these 997 mezger anymore. So no more buying without testdriving after that 991.

Very tough call if u have to choose. If there's something uber-rare or special about your 997rs that you could never get back, think twice. If not, I say life is about experiences. Even if you swap for a 991.2 Gt3 and eventually decide you want to swap back; I think it's a win either way. You will go to your grave having one additional experience. Best case is u love the new car and decide to be a serial upgrader. Worst case is you trade it back for a 997rs and appreciate the machine that much more. And at these price levels, I just don't see 997s running away here.

If you post was: if you had to irreversibility only keep one forever, I'd say stick with 997rs. But that's not reality. U can always change your mind later.

To be honest, if you can work it out financially without trading your 997 rs, you could just order one, see how it's like, drive it, enjoy it and then make up your mind, you won't lose that much money on the resale so, I don't see how it can't be made...

One factor that may help you decide, ask them how much they will take your RS.

I am sure they will tell you the GT3 is worth more than your RS. How would that matter in the deal?

This an interesting and timely post for me . I got caught up in the idea of owning a 991 RS and got an allocation that I was able to configure . I wasn't able to get PTS , but I did everything else I wanted including spending a lot on Exclusive paint accents to make up for no PTS . The day I sat with my sales guy and finalized the build ( was requesting Exclusive options which were approved later ) I was having doubts about whether it was what I really wanted , but went through with it . The day I paid for it and made arrangements to have it shipped ( enclosed ) home more doubts set in . Fast forward 6 months and I've never driven the car and have been actively looking for a really nice low mile unmolested 997 .1 RS . During the wait for allocation I cast an eye every now and then at a 997 .1 or .2 and thought I should buy one , but decided to go with the new car - because - well , it's new . For me anyway the older cars have more appeal for their size , simplicity ( relative ) and manual box . Can't say I'm sorry I bought the new car as I don't think it will have cost me anything when all is said and done , but the .2 GT3 and the GT2 RS just don't have near the appeal of the older cars . My 2 cents . Now if I could just find a nice low option frog ...............

What does the gt3 touring accomplish?

Without back seats seems silly. It also look like a c2

The 911r is not that good looking. It had a historical reference point, and a hot market, and limited production.

I think these tourings will sit. Just like the rest of the 991s when the musical chairs ends. There are no end users.

This board folks love to use their cars. 991 board it's all about "spec"

That said, the 997.2 rs is a beast of a car that needs to really be unleashed. And I get the folks who have one and infrequently drive it and then push 50% and wonder what if. The 997.2rs needs to be pushed almost 100% to unlock its brilliance. Most people can't do that. It's a rather manic car. Makes all the power up up up

I agree about the appeal of the older cars and I find myself gravitating towards them more and more. I had a 991 GT3 but didn't enjoy driving it nearly as much as my 997.1 GT3 RS or others, so I sold it. I still like the new stuff and will probably get a 991 GT3 RS, because its an RS, but nothing will replace my beloved frog! Good luck on your search.
