Porsche 911 Jubilee 1987/1988 250.000
Hello Porsche 911 fans and friends,
after Turbo and Speedster books I am just doing a new one on Aircooled G-Models.
I am just spending a lot of time with the different "special editions" of the Porsche 911.
I have one question for the 911 Jubilee in model year 1988 (cars produced in 1987 an 1988).
Also my 911 Coupé, produced for the German market, had 15 inch laquered Fuchs-wheels, as you can see on the image.
I see some jubilee cars from the 250.000 series with laquered 16 inch Fuchs-wheels?
Most of these cars have been produced for the US-market.
Now my question:
does anybody know if laquered 15 and 16 inch Fuchswheels were available in the US, or only 15 or 16 inch wheels?
I still look for imgages of a 911 Targa of the 250.000 series.
thank you very much for answers,
Andreas

Hey Tarek,
the first owner of my car had also choosen the turbo-tail, but I removed it.
Is your car a US-car? Do you have the laquered 15 inch Fuchswheels?
danke, danke, danke,

You have the laquered 15 Inch wheels as I have.
So maybe 16 inch was a "special wish?

The car in my avatar is an '88 CE. It has the color-matched 15" Fuchs.
All of the North American CE cars (300 out of a total 875 produced) had a set of identical options, but additional options could have been ordered from the factory, such as a whale tail. The identical options are:
Raff leather interior with Silver Blue carpet
Diamond Blue paint with color-matched 7/8x15" Fuchs
Short shifter
Model designation delete (no Carrera badge on the deck lid)
Sunroof
ALL of the 875 CE cars were produced between August and September, 1987.
I'm not sure what you mean by "lacquered", in this context. They were painted to match body color. Are you trying to confirm what KIND of paint was used, or just trying to find out if they all came color-matched?
The purchasers of these cars could have opted for 16" black-centered Fuchs in lieu of the color-matched 15". That would have been a dealer option, not a factory option.
I sincerely hope that these CE models are documented accurately in your new book, as there is not a single existing book on 911's that I have been able to find that describes them accurately. Most of them get the colors wrong, and/or misrepresent what they are commemorating. Part of the problem is the confusion between the 1989 25th Anniversary models and the 1988 Commemorative Editions.
I have a concours-quality example of the CE (pictured in my avatar) as well as the original 4-page factory brochure on the 1988 Commemorative Editions (911, 924 and 944). Any questions, feel free to PM me.

thank you very much for your answer.
My / our books are very detailled, just read the review by Porsche Club of America
https://www.pca.org/news/2017-04-07/...ears-1975-1998
I have the description (Presse Informationen) that was given at the IAA Frankfurt 1987 to the customers.
Also my "Jubi" has the 15inch Fuchswheels painted in the same colour (diamantsilber) as the whole car.
But - I saw many cars (250.000 - built in 1987, but model year 1988) with 16inch Fuchswheels, also painted in diamantsilver.
My idea was that these wheels were maybe available for the US-Market.
It would be great to get images of the 4-page-factory brochure.
thank you,
Andreas

Also, 16" black Fuchs wheels were a dealer-installed option, so it's very possible that some purchasers had these optional black 16" wheels fitted upon taking delivery instead of the color-matched 15" wheels that came from the factory. However, there were no 16" Fuchs painted Diamantblau. A few years ago I painted some 16" Fuchs to match the car, but I've since gone back to the original 15" because I like them better and I enjoy keeping the car original.
I'll post some pictures of the brochure.

Andreas, the Diamantblau paint was available for any 911 in model years 1987 and 1988, not just the Jubilee (Commemorative) special edition. The Silberblau interior, however, was available only on the Jubi/CE.

I think that is is to 99,9% correct to say in the book "that only 15inch Fuchswheels painted in diamond-blue excisted, when they came from Zuffenhausen to the US.
I guess the cars from the series with 16inch Fuchswheels (in diamond-blue) that I saw, were later installed.
And you are also to 100% correct: diamond-blue excisted as "special clolors" for 911 Carrera / Turbo and 928 S4 in 7/1988 (model year 1989).
I am looking for the original brochure of the 911 commemorative edition. I would like to show it in the book.

Andreas, yes that's the brochure I have. I've taken about a dozen images of it, which are much higher resolution than what you see here. I also have the commemorative plaque as you can see. These plaques, I believe, were delivered separately to the original owners along with the other sale materials, so that owners could mount the plaques if they chose, or store them away. Most probably stored them, and then lost them over the years, which would explain why these are rarely seen.

How can I get professional pictures or scans for the book?
I´m willing to pay for it
please let us discuss it:
