Crashed 991 GT3 RS Lives to see another track day
Hello Everyone - posting this on behalf of my uncle who is not very active on Rennlist.
I think most of you know this car from a previous Rennlist thread:
https://rennlist.com/forums/991-gt3-...peed-shop.html
And also from its coverage on Jalopnik:
http://jalopnik.com/shop-owner-smash...-in-1792973207
Not trying to open any wounds here, but thought it would nice to show the process of restoring this car back to track worthiness.
Some background, my uncle had been looking for a salvage 991 GT3 to use as a base for a new track car. There weren't too many for sale, but one day this RS popped up on an IAAI auction listing. He bid and won the car for a fair price.
The car didnt have much structural damage, but the airbags did go. He worked with his shop over the winter to have the car brought back to pretty "new". I'll start posting pictures of the process and its first track day (in about 1 month).
Hope you enjoy. Thanks

Some pics of the initial damage. First pic is from Original thread.
Fenders and hood and very little damage. A few areas where it fastens to the car had some cracks in the carbon. The front bumper, headlights and some internals needed to be completely replaced.

If you need someone to fix any of the broken carbon fiber parts let me know. Ihave a knack for broken Cup doors bumpers, undertrays no problem.

Great project, always wanted to do something like this. I never sell my stuff, so I would gladly take a huge price break, put that back together, and drive the **** out of it happily.

That's awesome!
If you don't mind, can you PM with the price he paid for the car? I will not share it with anyone. Just curious what it went for, as this is something I've considered a few times, but could never get the numbers to work.

Will have some more pics of the paint process later today. Bumper and head light arrive next Monday.

Anything with the software that needs reprogramming? Heard those other hacks at Bob Hindson wiped the whole thing clean to hide any potential logging of the beat down they did to it.
