Default OEM Widebody Side Skirts on a C2S

This is a topic that has been discussed numerous times and the consensus is generally that the OEM side skirts will not work on a narrow body 911. However, the material is very pliable, so I figured it was worth a shot.

After spending some time with them, I can finally give everyone a decisive answer: It is possible

I spent about an hour with a dremel carefully removing the bits that prevent it from sitting flush on the narrow body frame. This was all very elementary work. I have modified them to screw into factory locations, and will use a light 3M adhesive on the outer lip. I still have to go over the fine details to make everything sit perfectly, but I could not wait to share some photos of the beginning stages.

I will be posting a comprehensive DIY as I complete the other side of the car.

*Please note that these are not installed photos, I just have them held up to the car.

Thanks, guys! The only reason I am not finished is because I am still trying to decide whether I should use trim lock or 3M VHB tape on the upper lip to attach it to the body.

Use whatever can be undone. Never do anything permanent or need a sawzall or grinder to remove

Most definitely. That is always my priority when adding parts to a car like this. Everything has to be 100% reversible. Fortunately, both of those options are

Are there any hidden holes under a narrow body car that could be used for the OEM fasteners?

You sir win the gold star for the day. I've been waiting nearly a year for someone to try this, and you did it! Looks like I'll be ordering me a pair from suncoast.

You cant use the wide body fasteners, but you can use the narrow body fasteners. You just have to make new holes in the plastic side skirt for them.

Narrow body has a fastener on each end. I believe wide bodies have them in the middle part too? Either way, use automotive double sided tape in the middle and will be fine.

Its not too bad. Its the final details that take so much time. It is a full day project assuming you have all the necessary tools and supplies.

I have successfully mounted to the bottom of the car using OEM locations. I am just trying to decide the cleanest way to shave down the upper lip a bit more in order to make everything perfectly flush. Once I complete that, I will run some 3M tape along it and it will be done.

I cant wait to see this finished, I have been looking for a used set for months to avoid throwing away any more money then needed if this didnt work.

I guess I will go ahead and order a set now since I know it can be done

Face palm. Narrow body cars look good because they don't have stuff like that on them.
