Default How common are misaligned model designations?

I was idly looking at photos from my local dealership, and came across this:

The "911" is visibly tilted, and the 4S is spaced incorrectly on both sides.

Speculating, maybe it was originally a model delete, and some klutz tried to restore it. In any case, why would a dealership let something like that slide? Why wouldn't they fix it before taking photos?

I would rather have the model delete than a bad badge job...

I doubt those were applied at the factory.

Those are templated at the factory and impossible to put on like that unless hand-applied. I'm with Lex, that's a new bumper cover or at least a re-paint.

They are VERY hard to put on straight. I did my own on the back of my car because mine (from the factory) had only "911" on it, but it took me a long time to create a template that would get the "Carrera S" on perfectly. I made four templates before getting it right.

Had the "911 Carrera 4 S" been deleted at the factory, then the P O R S C H E would have been lowered about 2".

When asked about the tilted badging on the back, the Porsche technician replied:

"It's normal!"

That's the typical response to problems they don't want to fix.

Someone definitely put that badge on incorrectly (without a template).

I loath hearing that something is "within spec"...

Totally not factory. Clearly an accident repair - and a bad one. The tech who said its normal is an idiot.
Run from that dealer - fast!!

While a new bumper sure sounds plausible, Autocheck claims no accidents on the car.
