I am a new 996 owner and new Rennlist member but a longtime Pelican and convert from the aircooled cars. I am aware that some people are wary of new members with low post counts, so I have listed my Pelican ad where I have had over 2000 posts. This 99 996 3.4 motor had an intermix from a failed heat exchanger. It does not run and should be considered a core. It did not have an IMS failure and IS rebuildable. A leakdown was done on the engine and it had 3-4% across the board. The motor has 60K on it. Engine # is: M96/0166W05400. Rebuild as a 3.4 or bump it up to a 3.8 with the LN kit. It will make a great replacement engine for a 3.4 with an IMS failure or an upgrade for a 2.5 or 2.7 Boxster. If you can rebuild your own motor, this is much more economical than buying a crate engine from Porsche for $17K. I am asking $2500. Engine is located in Rochester, NY. Buyer to pay shipping. I can prepare the engine on a pallet and be ready for pick up.
