If the car is shipped to another state, Texas collects no tax. The buyer pays the tax in the state where it is eventually delivered and registered.

If you know this specifically for Texas then thanks. But in general there are many states in which this isn't true. Many states have reciprocity agreements where the state where the car is re-titled will only collect the difference in tax paid. That's why I pretty much will never buy a car from People's Republic of California.

Hey Bill,
Yeah AZ has that unique stipulation in their tax code so no doubt it makes sense to buy a private party car if possible.
Outside of our agreed selling price, the dealer will get no benefit other than a fee that I'm paying for the in/out process and perhaps an additional car sale in their books. Taxes are taxes and they'll charge what they're legally obligated where necessary.

but don't stand in long MVD lines try an independent from the MVD
I walked into Desert Title and Tag with used car private party purchase paperwork and had everything completed within 15 mins and $15 for their fee. I walked out with plate, tag, title and registration, nothing needed to be followed up or mailed to me.

Carrera was a Panamerica race and has nothing to do with the color CWM

Outside of some unique tax incentives via your own state, I think using a dealer to help buy or sell a car is such the easier thing to do. It takes most if not all of the transaction and paperwork anxiety out of the deal. The dealer does all of the work. You just write the check. I've done this before more than once and it was more than easy. Happy Sunday.

Love the GT4!
One thing I was surprised about when I first got the car was not only how awesome the bucket seats looked but how comfortable they were (once you climbed in). Definitely the way to go for any GT car.
Also the satin black wheels look sweet to.
