Over the past few years my daughter and I have enjoyed the support of the membership here in regard to the custom crests and insignia we refinish.

A few years ago we started experimenting with a proprietary Marine Resin in order to make “filled” refinished pieces. We chose this particular material as it was perfect for use on the front end or wheel cap of a Porsche. It’s highly resistant to water, saltwater, UV exposure, impact and won’t fade, chip or crack over time as does the material in factory pieces. The downside to using this material was that it’s very labor intensive to create a finished “jewelry quality” piece. Each piece required approximately 8-10 hours of hand sanding and polishing (the final wet sanding is done with a 5000 grit 3M Trizact pad) and consequently we priced the crests at $399.99 each. For those of you who are new to our work please note that this is a part time “hobby business” and not our “day jobs”. Overall we’ve refinished very few of these pieces although we’re MORE than pleased with the results.

Well ……. over time we’ve learned quite a bit about working with this material. And practice makes perfect. We’ve developed expertise and techniques that reduce the time required to complete a finished filled piece. Accordingly we’re able to SIGNIFICANTLY reduce the cost. We’re offering two refinished filled pieces as this year’s Spring Special.

The first option is a black resin and nickel plate “partially filled” refinished crest. Available in polished or brushed nickel plate utilizing a “newer” style crest (with outlined PORSCHE lettering) or “older” style (with solid lettering). The price is $249.99 shipped within the US with a new crest gasket and retainers. Here’s a pic of the prototype piece…a “new” style crest with a polished nickel finish:



The second option is a filled version of the “American Flag” style piece we’ve been refinishing for a few years utilizing automotive enamel. As with the black and silver option above we’re offering these in brushed or polished nickel plate and your choice of an “old” or “new” crest. We also offer the option of filling the outlined PORSCHE lettering with white resin on a “new” style piece at no additional cost. The price is $299.99 shipped in the US with a crest gasket and retainers. Please note however that we still create each custom piece one at a time…..by hand….to your order. We don’t have a bank of machinery knocking these pieces out one after another nor do we have “in stock” refinished pieces lying around waiting to ship. We only refinish OEM Porsche pieces….we don’t refinish knockoff pieces shipped to us via a container from China. And we don’t start creating your custom order until you custom order it!

Thank you to the members here for the welcome response we've received to our "Spring Special" filled crests! Although more labor intensive and expensive than our previous specials they're considerably reduced in price through April 30th.

We're still actively refinishing other crests and insignia as well. The ability to offer a filled "American Flag" motif crest generated an order for a matched set (hood crest, steering wheel crest and center cap crests for the wheels). I thought I'd post pics of the work in progress.

BREAKING NEWS REGARDING THE "SPRING SPECIAL"!!

We've been able to source another quantity of "core" crests at a reasonable price so the special will be extended from April 1st through Memorial Day.

Secondly in response to requests from fellow Porsche owners and enthusiasts we're offering another color combination / option at the reduced price. A Black and White resin piece is now available in either polished or brushed nickel plate. Here's a pic of the prototype piece in polished nickel:



This color combination looks great on any color!

As you may already be aware we utilize genuine Porsche emblems as core pieces for refinishing. The current Porsche Factory pricing is $148.90 USD for the "older" style crest with solid PORSCHE lettering. Porsche's price for the "newer" style crest with outlined PORSCHE lettering is $164.51 USD.

In order for us to provide our fellow Porsche owners and enthusiasts with reasonable pricing on custom refinished pieces we're constantly searching to find sources for used crests. Refinishing or "repurposing" used pieces allows us to pass the savings on to you. We want the quality and appearance of our finished pieces to be "jaw dropping".............not the price!

Here's a quantity of used pieces we picked up this past week from a dismantler / vendor in the southern U.S. They may be ugly ducklings at the moment but stay tuned and watch as we transform them into stunning refinished custom crests!

I have the black on silver one shown in Jim's avatar and it is fabulous (car is black) - Jim provides excellent customer service as well. Now I'm thinking of ordering another to have a spare and perhaps change-up the look. Tough choice!
