This is a feeler for a friend who owns these seats. What is the current market value?? I have seen them, they are in excellent condition with no tears or wear marks. The backs are very clean with minimal marking. The bolsters and cushions are firm. All recline and tilt mechanisms work and nothing is missing. They come with sliders ready to bolt into any 911 from 1974 to at least 1998. My friend had these in his 930 but has gone to a one piece seat. To be clear these are not mine. I am helping a friend to determine value.

you are kind of correct ..these are rare (depending if you live in the US) and where expensive with regard to automotive seating...but its a Recaro!
Couple of key points-
-A8's started production in 1989..............24 YEARS AGO! Hard to say how old these are, but they are version 1 and had a short production run due to the base issue.
-These are version 1 and All version 1's will experience seat base cracking. After a couple of years of V1 production an A8 with a redesigned base was sold as version 2.
-Used Version 2's are available in cloth overseas in the range of $1000-1500 pair and up to $2500 pair leather
Keep in mimd that Recaro offers a modern reclining hardback called the Sportster for around $1200 per seat cloth!

I have seen the leather ones go for 3k..one way to determine value is put them up for auction on eekbay
