You can do your own research, which you clearly haven't done. As I have also said, many of the sets are sold OFF the board. The Vivid pricing was discussed ad nauseum recently. Long story short, they can't sell at that price because they can't get them. These are made to order and take months to get. There is a reason Suncoast has then at 21K. And no, it doesn't make me feel better what they are worth. It is what it is. Tried to help. Happy for the buyer getting a smoking deal at 8K.

This was an interesting thread for me as I like to see somebody get a good deal but at the same time, I want to make sure the uninformed are informed. There is a reason you had a line to buy them almost instantly.

I don't spend nearly as much time on the board as I did once upon a time but I am very much in touch with the pulse of the current market for the GT3 and the various parts it commands (especially the seats)

But in the end, buyer got a great deal and you felt good about your price. Win-win.

What does everyone do for a living when $8000 for a set of seats is a "good deal"? I need to get on that level.

Nobody except Porsche people understand. Friend just picked up a set of GT2 Carbon buckets and he feels like I'm the only guy he can tell what he paid. Lol!!!

GT2s are foldable and not fixed-back like these...and I think they weigh more than these seats

These are a full carbon bucket, very light. The folding carbon buckets have steel assemblies that up the weight over the full buckets substantially. Your options are: A-Save weight, lose $$$, and rear seat access is limited. B- Save $$$, gain weight, gain access to rear seats.

before everyone looses their mind over this deal i wanted to relay that despite the seats being extremely light the construction of the seats is not all that impressive.

i owned a set, they are a carbon shell that is wrapped in leather. the leather is glued and string drawn against the shell. other than having porsche street credit i cant foresee why a pair of standard recaro pole positions for example would not suffice

yes having oem sliders is nice as the operation is smooth and oem like! if the pole positions can be mounted with a set of oem sliders save you're money or just get a set of the $3000 996 elephant ear seats.. they are more comfortable than the very upright gt2 fixed back!

at $8000 the seats where a phenomenal deal! why you might ask! one answer - RESALE! the seats should be trading between 10-12k

my 0.2 cents

*Not a CF seat (just a CF overlay on the shell)
*Airbags
*AWS
*Folding to access rear area/seats
*Significant weight difference

**Think of them a a hybrid between the CF buckets and the stock seats**
