991.2 OEM PDK steering wheel with custom features plus LEATHER airbag

Price: $2500 including shipping (wheel and airbag together)

I bought this wheel directly from "911ava" on Ebay. He is a great, reliable seller and this custom steering wheel is very high quality.
Here is the link to the exact steering wheel that I bought (minus the non-leather airbag he is offering):
https://www.ebay.com/itm/PORSCHE-991...oAAOSwdGFYrJsb

He basically takes an OEM 991.2 PDK (non-heated, non-multifunction) steering wheel and does the following:
- Thicker high quality leather
- Red notch at 12 o'clock
- Red stitching
- Replaced inner trim and bezel with the OEM chrome look

It feels very nice in the hands...much better than any standard OEM wheel (such as 991.1 sport design or 991.2 stock wheel). The PDK paddles have a much better feel and engagement than the 991.1 Sport Design wheel (PDK paddles feel too light with too long of travel). I put about 6k miles on the car with this steering wheel but it's still like new for sure.

This absolutely works (plug 'n play) on my 991.1 Turbo S with Sport Design wheel. I toiled over the details of will it work for weeks before I purchased. I consulted with another forum member Stealthpilot who did the same thing before I decided to go for it. I DO NOT recommend you trying to replace your steering wheel with this one if you have non-PDK, multifunction, or heated features. It is not worth trying to find the correct modules and dealer programming needed to make it work otherwise.

If you have a 991.1 (any PDK version) with a SPORT DESIGN steering wheel, this wheel is exactly for you. The feeling and thickness and quality of this wheel made the driving experience much better in my opinion as your hands are touching and grabbing this thing all the time. Yes the Sport Design wheel has the Sport/Sport Plus light and Launch control light (the .2 does not have the lights) but the install works fine (no codes, no error lights).

In addition, here's an interesting story about the airbag I'm selling...
- At the time I purchased this wheel, the only black airbag available in the world was the non-leather version (trust me I checked everywhere)
- I really wanted the smooth texture of the leather airbag so after a recommendation by my local Porsche dealer, I purchased a new OEM Agate Grey airbag and took it to a local leather shop where it was dyed Black
- The outcome was more than visibly pleasing and I'm sure after detailed inspection few people could ever guess that it used to be Grey
- Current price of LEATHER airbag from Suncoast is $1495 (damn expensive for what it is)

There you have it. PM with questions or interest. Thanks.

Thanks Lgear,

Yeah if I still have the wheel by my next GT car I will definitely put it back on my car. Loved it.

@mc2 would you let the airbag go by itself?

Default Interested in bezel

Hey! You say you “Replaced inner trim and bezel with the OEM chrome look” ... does bezel mean the T shaped trim piece? Any chance you have the old one? I’d gladly take that from you at the right price. Feel free to PM me.

No sir. The wheel came custom with the chrome look piece already. No spare parts. Sorry! I know that T trim piece is hard to come by especially in black and costs over $300. Crazy.

Someone understands my misery I got a sweet deal on a 991.2 wheel but if I got the trim piece new in black at (a ridiculous !!) $300 then the advantage is gone. Oh well, guess I’ll keep the non-functional mode select for a while. I really like your wheel btw, i may just get a wrap like that from those guys in Dallas some day. GLWS!
