I'm considering replacing my OEM 987.2 headers with an aftermarket set that has sport cats (I think the catless headers will probably be too loud and I don't have a valved cat-back). I'm leaning towards the Carnewal 200-cell sport-cat headers, but thought I'd see if anyone has a used set available to save some $$$. Thanks.

I have a set of factory Cayman R headers with about 1500 miles on them you could use them as cores and send to Carnewal for modification. They are listed in the marketplace for 250.00 plus shipping.

Thanks, but I already have a spare set of cores, in case I go the Carnewal route. I appreciate the offer.

Consider buying new Soul 200-cell long tube headers. This is what I got for my 987.2 and I love the improvement in both sound and power. I spend a long time looking for used aftermarket cats with no luck.

Soul uses HJS German-made cats which are the best available on the market.

With Soul you get better flowing headers than OEM and lifetime warranty. Their before and after-sales support is top notch - I am speaking from experience.

second this rec. see my recent initial review/critique in 987/981 sub forum. Ask Mike or John for Rennlistet discount.

Thanks for the suggestions. I like the Carnewal solution as it's a lot cheaper than the Soul offering and I won't need to switch it out when it comes to smog time in CA. They both use the same 200-cell cats I believe. I'm not convinced the different piping makes a significant difference - at least, I've not seen any data to prove it. I think the big difference is reducing two 400-cell factory cats to the single 200-cell.
