I have advised him of this thread further to cancelling payment to give him a chance to defend himself.

I do not know him and have no evidence of him trying to scam people, but I was scared off by the above posts and so cancelled my money transfer.
I maybe have done the guy an injustice. I got pictures of what I wanted.
I can't afford to lose 350usd so I bailed out.

Do not for one second feel badly for this dbag. The methods are textbook scamming methods. And the ability to source the exact part needed in a timely fashion for nearly anyone who has a WTB ad is an impossible dream. This is a scammer plain and simple.

Google the name Solomon smith. 'He' doesn't just prey on the pcar forums. 'He' hits up nearly any forum with a classified section. The scale of scams using this name means it's an operation of ppl using the same name. It simplifies the financials (only one account needed in one name). Most will be wise to it but the few who are not pay their bills. Spray and pray. F**k these guys.
