Take a serious look at doing the C5 Z06 swap with the 928 MS kit instead. Have it in my supercharged '79 and its awesome. I run '85 MPH at 2,000 RPM on the highway and can shift from any gear to any gear with the modern synchros. I bought my parts needed from Dino's Corvette. The 928MS site tells you what's needed but essentially the transfer, torque tube, shifter box, and shifter. I did a shortshift kit in mine too.

+1 on the 6 speed convert. I love my GT, but often wish it had one more gear. if I had the opportunity
to do an auto to manual convert, I would go with the Z06 6 speed. have you driven a stock 5 speed?
best of luck which ever road you travel. have you tried 20th St in Arizona??

Thanks Petza914 and Merchauser
I have a 1978 manual and it is fun and I enjoy the shifts (I had rebuilt the whole transmission and synchros).
I want to put a manual in my 1990 S4. I know about the Corvette transmission possibility but I just purchased a manual 928 transmission (newer model) so I prefer to go that route. I am most interested in sourcing the front clutch pieces - where is the best place to get new clutch disc? and of course the hardware pieces? I am planning on getting Torque tube from 928 international.

Thank you for encouragement - it is good to know I am not the only one attempting this.

Bump,

Looks like I will be getting most parts from 928 INT, however if anyone has any good deals on parts for swap still I have another 2 weeks before I start the project.

I have a clean torque tube and shifter linkage that mates up to a G28.12 transmission. And the clutch pedals.

Default Linkage

How much for the shift linkage (I assume front and back one with the front ball cup). Shipped to Madison?

Also pedal assembly - can you send me a photo?

I am looking at getting the rebuilt TT from 928 international as in used ones the bearings are usually gone.

Thanks

Maciej
