1992 968 Non M030 coupe - originally built for PCA/944 Cup SP-3: (NOTE - NOT 100% ready to drive on track SP3 ready). Please see my updated post below posted on 3 May 2018 for those items still needed. GT5 class would be more appropriate with Balance Shaft Delete...but can be taken back to SP3 if you choose to redo them.

Additional (not included in 20k): I do have a spare engine minus clutch housing REGARDLESS: this is an EXCELLENT DE car at "minimum".... check out my photo album here on Rennlist as well for more pix.

Serious Inquiries: Email me or IM me for a Google Duo Video call if you want to see/walk around the car....hear the engine, start up....anything you need to help make your decision.

Odometer stopped working in 2014 with 155,000 miles. Drove it on track only since 2012. Complete rebuild (see below) and car currently has 3 hours of track time (approx 230 miles). Clear/Clean Title in hand; no salvage or rebuild. It is a regular title.

Car originated in Charleston SC, moved to California, then to Maine. I purchased from the 3rd owner in Apr 2012; built into a DE/Track car from July-Oct 2012. I do have maintenance records and pictures from early 90’s. It was wrecked back in the 90's and I have pictures and records of it. THIS IS A TRACK CAR...a VERY nice one at that, BUT if you are looking for a PERFECT 968 for the street, let's save each other some time. Here is what I’ve done to the car upon purchase in Apr 2012:

Jul-Oct 2012:
Ground-Control Koni double adjustable front, single adjustable rear with coilovers spring adjustable height. 550 front/650 rear spring rates
Ground-Control Front Adjustable Camber plates
NEW OEM Charlie Arms
6 point bolt in/welded Autopower full cage with FSI padding.
2 Corbeau FX-1 Racing Seats with adjustable sliders (Red/Black)
Ultra Shield 5 pt Race Harnesses x 2 (just refreshed with NEW Jan 2018)
Stainless Steel Brake Lines all around
PFC-08 compound x4
Mobil-1 75W-90 Synthetic Gear Oil
K&N Air Filter
Installed New Suspension Bushings all around; Carbon Graphite, Poly/Rubber
Removed Rear Torsion Bars - reinstalled hollow (with Coilovers)
Permanently affixed and sealed sunroof/applied vinyl checkered pattern over entire top
Removed ALL interior components except Dash (all wiring harnesses still remain)
Nov 2012 - Mar 2017; RAN DE's at Virginia International Raceway, Carolina Motorsports Park, Road Atlanta and Mid-Ohio with mainly PCA groups. NEVER had any problems at the track, always dependable and very fun! NEVER raced in PCA Club Racing or any other form of racing; DE only.

Aug 2017-Mar 2018: Major Refresh/NEW Engine (3 hours currently)
New Cross Drilled Brake Rotors x 4
Performance Friction PFC-10 front, PFC-08 compound rear
Motul RBF-600
Oil 20W50 Valveline VR1, Oil Filter Mahle
4 NEW Tires; Toyo Proxes R888R Front - 235/45 ZR18 Rear - 255/35 ZR18 on Veloce 3.8 Turbo Wheels
NEW 3.0 engine; Lyndsey Racing Balance Shaft Delete ****BUMPS into GT5*****
NEW Timing Belt; Rollers, Tensioners
NEW Cam Chain, Cam Chain Pad, Cam Chain Tensioner AND Intake and Exahust Cams
All NEW Continental/OEM belts/hoses
NEW Fidanza Lightweight Flywheel, Sachs Sport Clutch complete kit; NEW release shaft bearings, NEW cross shaft for release bearing fork
NEW Mahle Engine mounts
NEW Bosch Crankshaft Reference Mark sensor
NEW Bosch Oxygen Sensor
NEW Karlyn STI Ignition Wire Set

3” custom exhaust, Dynomax Race Bullet
A/C Delete Package/Bracket
Completed Vinyl Graphics package (completely 100% removable)

Ran a Test N Tune session at Carolina Motorsports Park on 20 April 2018; the car ran absolutely PERFECT. Video/Pix posted at the link below. I wanted to ensure that it is 100% operational prior to someone else being able to enjoy it. Video is RAW and UNEDITED so that there was complete transparency and you could see that I'm not using smoke and mirrors.

A little about me: I did 21 years on Active Duty, Marine Corps; retired in 2007; now in the Corporate World. WE (The car and me &#128522 are well known throughout the Carolina’s Region and Peachstate Regions DE programs. 21 year PCA member (97-current). I am a Nationally Certified PCA Driving Instructor and have enjoyed my 968 at Virginia International Raceway, Carolina Motorsports Park, Road Atlanta and Mid-Ohio Raceway. Handles and BRAKES EXCELLENT….and with the new power plant additions I've already bested my "normal lap times" at CMP by 15 seconds. Ran 1:53 best. REALLY TURNS HEADS….I am constantly receiving positive comments on the car, both on performance and looks. SOUNDS AMAZING! Listen for yourself.

The exterior is in great shape/condition for a 26 year old "classic". Interior still has some of the “fuzzies” from carpet installation and has NOT been completely repainted like a professional factory race car. Something that the next owner can certainly do….if desired.

I wouldn't recommend to anyone the thought of taking her back to "street"; you would have to get ALL interior pieces (minus dash) for that...and you just can't find them anywhere; plus complete emergency/parking brake system. I do not have them as when I built the car in 2012, I sold and/or scrapped all of it.

I have NEVER been caught performing maintenance trackside; NEVER....always 100% dependable. I have factory manuals and build by the "book". That is the way I build...strong preference to take care of all maintenance issues in the garage; go to the track and enjoy my time!

Hate to see my Red Monster go….but it is time for me to move on after 6 years of TRACK time; I have “a few too many” toys…and I’m changing directions. Staying in the Porsche world...just moving mid engined.

Let me know your thoughts….

UPDATE:
For transparency and as an update I wanted to ensure I included that this car is NOT turn key 100% ready to roll on track in SP3. I was building this for SP3 starting back in 2012. Here is the link to the 2018 rules: http://turbo.pcaclubracing.org/wp-co...cing-Rules.pdf

It is a mine field of "rules/regulations". When I built the car back in 2012 I was headed SP3 direction. Here is what I see is needed to FURTHER complete the car for 2018 rules and SP3:
Seat Back Brace (Brey Krause makes one easy to install)
Fire Extinguisher
Electrical Cutoff Switch
Metal Cover installed over fuel sender (interior)
Transponder
Window Net
PCA Club Racing Stickers

Paragraph SPEC CLASSES, 1. Engine, (M) indicates Flywheels are free as long as OEM diameter (and it is).

ADDITIONAL ITEMS of interest for this specific car are:
This seat is over 5 years of age; so YES, according to 2018 rules a Seat Back Brace is needed...(Brey Krause has one; not difficult to install)
I do NOT know about the Lyndsey Racing Balance Shaft delete kit that is used in this engine. THIS NEEDS TO BE REVIEWED (Bumps the car to GT5)

IF one is to RACE this car in SP3 they would definitely WANT to install LSD (It isn't a requirement, but would be a nice to have). I just haven't gotten to that part yet, but was certainly next on my list. I WAS going to race this car in SP3, but honestly just don't have the TIME (and most likely the talent) to do so, so I just stuck to doing DE's and Instructing. Just call me "Captain Slow"....shucks, that one is already taken!

So no smoke and mirrors trying to be used, I will correct my original post as well. No malice intended. Thanks USCarrera for clarification on PCA Club Racing rules for 2018.

Jerry a little help on rules for SP3 as with all PCA rule book questions:

"If rules don't say it can be done it can't be done, think that would apply to the removal of balance shaft
Back brace needed for any seat exciting 5 years old from date of manufacture stamped on seat Brey Krause sells one that is an easy install
LSD is definitely a race upgrade needed but not necessary to get started so start without it when ready add it.
Car can also run in PCA GT5 class which would allow balance shaft removal

Hope this helps you and any potential buyer
Good Luck, very nice car
