Would it help if you had pre-orders for the version 1’s?

establish the estimated MSRP, with prospective buyers putting half down to help speed up development as well as giving you feedback during the process

whats your thoughts?

I’ll be tor first pre-order

@L1ttleBastard I think I should be okay for now with funds for development once I sell through the remaining sets. The limiting factor for me right now is time since I have a full-time job and I'm just doing this as a hobby project. That said I am planning on this being my holiday break project. Hopefully I'll have something soon!

Make a one-piece replacement that does this and I think you will have many takers.....

Andrew:
Did a quick sweep of the above posts, but didn't find anything on the subject. I have a 2001 996, and you're probably familiar with the "Rounded off" headlight assembly in lieu of the sharper point of the 2002/2003 996's. Is there any chance that you might have a like item for the 2001 model? BTW, yours are beautifully executed....

regards,
gregor

Yes, I am working with a 3d designer on them right now. I hope to have them ready by the spring.

Hey all. Would anyone with an mk1 car living in Los Angeles be willing to drive out to culver city to let me do a 3d scan of their car? I need a good example as a foundation to build the 3d model. Here is a clay model prototype of the headlight cover design. All feedback welcome.

Although I have a MK2, I really like these covers for the MK1's, the headlight ring is very defined and will look great a different color. Just curious, how do you think it would look if you were to mold in a rectangular ring around the turn signal light? Since your playing with the clay just thought others could see it and you could take a poll on 1. as shown, 2. trim around turn signal (I was going to say 3. covering turn signal but would be concerned that if an accident happened due to the lack of the turn signal, it could come back to haunt you).
