Great looking color. Glacier white is the best color for the C2S & C4S. With black inside and no turbo tale it would be perfect for me.

It does indeed except it’s not for sale. He only wants a trade.

Sloan Motors just posted 1997 C4S, Arctic Silver, 12,300 miles on Instagram. Doesn't appear to be on their website yet.

The reality is based off of this thread I have had two very strong leads that led to offers and PPI’s, unfortunately after the PPI’s I chose to move on as both cars had a number of issues I was not comfortable with. You have to be diligent when you buy these cars as beauty is not always skin deep. Good luck with your purchase!

Gents some unsolicited experience and thoughts from someone who took delivery of a 993 4S the same week this thread opened and started following it as I still was searching for the counter C2S to complete the stable. I believe I have found it and will leave that at that.

Although I was not looking for a unicorn on the 993 4S, (already went that route on my 964, and got it, however I missed on 4 years of driving while looking for it and turning down multiple others). hence having a set limit for budget on the 993S/4S search, I would like to provide some insight on my experience.

1.- Bucket sport seats or lack there of should not be a deterrent. You can get the reproduction ones or OEM ones reupholstered with Porsche head crest for $5-$6K installed and still have the factory ones, sell them or keep them for when you decide to resell the car and also sell the other sport buckets separately for about the same amount as you bought them as they will be stateside by then.
2.- Aerokit or not should not be a deterrent either. Easily reversible mod. does not really add value even if factory installed. My 993 4S has the aerowing. OEM deck lid painted to match installed $1200.00 Twin Grille like the C2S $1400.00 at top paint shop. Not doing it just researched it.
3.- NONE and I will repeat: NONE of these cars after 20+ years of PO, weather garage queen or driveability antics with high mileage will show no work to be done. There is always something to be done in these cars, even if PO had meticulous upkeep and maintenance. Of course the difference is having to put up more dollars on top of the agreed purchase price which is a very valid concern.
4.- They all leak from somewhere sooner or later.
5.- Some dealers cryo clean the bottom of the car (steam clean spotless) tighten the chain adjusters and put them up for sale. Leaks do not show on PPI but show later after car is in your garage.
6.- Within the local Porsche group that I belong to, in the last 4 months three of us have purchased 993 C4S x 2 and One C2S which I also looked at and let it go because we were $10k apart in the final number. A friend of mine bought it and put in another $10K since to make it perfect for him. He beat my 964 at the PCA concours in that category, I came in 2nd. I wish I had ponied up the extra $10K just not to have to hear it for the rest of the year at every cars and coffee. However my since purchased 993 4S gets more attention than his C2S. Color, aerowing and others make it different and I guess more appealing to the onlookers than the usual silver/black which outnumbers my Midnight Blue Metallic by 3 to 1 now.
7.- At the DRT a few weeks ago I placed my phone number on the dash card of my 9934s as I was moving back and forth from the space of my Panamera Turbo which is for sale. During and after the show I got multiple texts and calls asking about selling price for the car. It is not for sale, but I threw all kinds of numbers out there from $70 to $85K just to test the waters and got 2 serious interests at the higher point that I had to politely decline. Car has 86K miles but looks as $30k miles and is maintained to a Tee. Mostly by PO who is also a RLister and special touches by me for the last month including Paint correction and protection which resulted in night and day look and deep appeal. Almost $10k post purchase later, I could not be happier to be driving it as opposed to still looking for it.
8.- If you are serious, don't wait too long, the market is not soft that is a fallacy, if the car is true, straight, clean and dry with low mileage you will get what you ask for within a few bucks of negotiation to make the buyer feel better. If not go ask PH1 that has an 8k mile C2S asking $139k and probably will get $130, which is TT territory if you ask me.

I have test driven and have service record knowledge of 2 x '98 C2Ss within the Miami area. One Red and one triple black. Red has $60k miles priced at $90k and the black has 22k miles priced at $140 with extra wheels etc. Both are local PCA guys and the service history is verifiable but they wont sell just for selling, it has to be to the right guy and at the right price, so that is to be factored in as well from a private sell/buy point of view, and I agree. Otherwise you will be left with having to deal with dealers, and we all know we are at their mercy.

Good luck with your searches and sincerely hope you grab the next one that best suits the affair, so you can start driving and stop looking. The experience is completely different.

Porsche On!!
