OK,

So Steve was very quick to reply to my question above, he also PM'd me and emailed me all within 20 minutes of my original posting. Talk about great customer service!

Anyway, after learning about "Dimensional Weight" I still wanted to see how much I was saving using ShipNerd. So I went to the carrier's website to see what it would have cost me using them directly. I would have paid $228.40 going directly through UPS, but by using ShipNerd I only paid $131.89. So that was a savings of 42.25%!

Thanks again Steve!

Hi Shipnerd,

I am trying to ship 4 rims/tires, but your calculator maxes out at 150 lbs. Am I SOL?

@strathconaman:

Thank you for contacting us.

Are you shipping 4 rims and tires as 1 package, or as 4 separate packages? 4 rims and tires would be for 4 packages within 1 shipment, not 1 shipment containing 4 packages.

You would simply need to to add 4 packages to your shipment so that you can check the rates.

Please let me know if you need further assistance.

Steve

Just used Ship Nerd for the first time to send a fellow RL'er a set of brake pads, from Toronto to Victoria BC. UPS website quote was almost $60 CAD and Ship Nerd got the same UPS shipment for $28. Impressed!

I'm going to be shipping a rear bumper from a Cayenne, so light, but large. Can shipnerd help with that as well? Is GPX Greyhound freight in the shipnerd arsenal, as that's who I was thinking I'd have to use to keep the cost reasonable.

@@Petza914 -- We only work with courier companies, not freight. I don't know what the cost difference would be between freight vs courier, but if you have the bumper packaged, you can easily get an accurate ship quote by inputting the weight and dimensions on our website to see the ShipNerd price using a courier.

Thanks Steve. I'll do that once it's packed up this weekend as I look into the options.

My pleasure! The "quick quote" tool on the homepage doesn't allow you to enter dimensions (meant for a quick quote), so simply create a free account, and the ship page allows you to enter dimensions.

We'll provide you with an exact ship quote and transit time based on the info you provide from the couriers.

Regards,

Steve

I used this for the first time last month and it’s as advertised. It literally cost 45% less than the local UPS Store. No issues with the shipment or hidden charges.

@shipnerd, your service is great! Website super easy to use and I already saved a lot. Shipped a few large items coast to coast and saved at least 20% if I would have done it direct with UPS Ground or FedEx Ground.

Thanks!

I'm trying to buy a set of wheels, can I send the seller the labels from your website?
Also is there any insurance available with this? If the items get damaged in shipping, who is responsible, shipnerd or the courier?

Thanks,

Rad
