I bought this car to start doing track days again and I've done precisely zero in the few years I've had the car. I had the intention of turning it into a purpose built track car, but once I got it, I realized that its too nice a 944 to hack up. The paint is good and a professional detailer can probably make it look amazing again. There are a few dings and whatnot, but overall it's a very clean 944. The interior is in very good condition for its age. I removed the stock ivory seats (which are torn) and installed black 993 power seats. The timing belt, tensioners and clutch were done about 10k miles ago and the car is pretty solid. Motor mounts and transaxle mounts went in about 2k miles ago. This would make a great project for someone who has the time. Its ready to be driven as is or could be built into a great street/track car. In the interest of full disclosure, there are some foibles...one, the ignition switch return spring is weak and it needs a little help returning to the "ON" position after cranking. Two, the ignition key and door keys don't match...not sure about this one, i bought it like this and was told that the ignition lock was replaced at some point. 3, the hatch release sometimes sticks and doesnt release. I hear the solenoid but sometimes it doesn't open. 4, the fan sometimes only works on high...i'm guessing its a dirty contact in the switch, but I never dug any deeper. Last, I replaced the instrument panel lights with LED's, but they are a bit dim. Aside from that, the car is pretty good...motor runs smoothly, transmission shifts well, AC blows cold, windows/power locks/sunroof work. While it isn't perfect per se, it is a perfectly good driver and certainly one of the cleaner 944's left out there.

Do you have any maintenance records? Especially those regarding the timing belt. Any other mods done to the car that aren't mentioned in the listing? I notice an aftermarket head unit. Do you still have the original seats, head unit? Are any of the dents sizeable? Thanks!

The only thing I forgot to mention is a K&N cold air intake. However, I have the stock airbox. The timing belt was done about 5-6 years ago...I have the records somewhere...i've been through two moves in that time period and have to dig them up.

Sorry, I mistakenly thought there was a price change. Got it mixed up with another car. Love the black front seats. It goes very well with the 2 tone interior. They appear to be supple leather seats from 993, right?

Interesting S2, love the 993 seats, Had a 1991 944S2, think overall the 944S2 was the best of the lot, Owned a 1987 944s also, Both were great daily drivers and were capable of long trips, which I often did, 4 -6 hours traveling to Track events to Watkins Glen ,Lime Rock etc. Good Luck With Sale.

I am thinking about getting rid of my M Roadster and going back to a S2. I don't know why.
