I ordered this new and took delivery in August 2012. For those unfamiliar with this model, this is the twin turbo 3.0 diesel before they changed the model to the current one with the odd styling and downgraded the engine. This comes with 425lbs of torque and can tow over 7,000 lbs. All diesels are four wheel drive.
Build includes:
- Sport package
- Comfort access package
- Luxury package
- Cold weather package
- Self leveling suspension
- Premium sound
- Navigation
- Satellite radio
- Rear heat/AC
- Heated seats front and rear and heated steering wheel
- Leather sports seats
- Parking sensors
- Backup and side view camera
- HID headlights
- Towing package
- Hill descent assist
- Panorama roof
- Power lift gate
- Apple play
Vehicle has always been dealer maintained and received new tires a year ago. Front brakes were changed out about 10 months ago. Rear breaks were done last week (pads and rotors).
The common failure items on these vehicles are the DEF tanks. Both the active and the passive tanks were changed out last week and carry a two year warranty from BMW so no worries there.
Vehicle has BMW installed trailer hitch and brake controller. This was setup to tow my RX-7 race car but that car was always broken and I think I only towed it three to four times. The rest of the towing was motorcycles to and from the track and my aluminum utility trailer. Needless to say, 7,000 lbs+ towing capacity and 425lb or torque is a bit of overkill for my current use. The brake controller sits in the cup holder when used. This setup is about $1,600 installed.
Our evolving family needs require a third row so I am looking to unload this one. Vehicle is in good condition with some slight wear on the drivers seat bolster (see pictures) and a couple very minor scratches on the rear bumper. Before delivery, I had the dealer install EXPEL on the front and mirrors. Cosmetically it is 9 out of 10. No accidents and a clean Carfax. Vehicle currently has a lien with BMW financial.
I have taken close up pictures of the bumper nicks and some nicks in the interior as well as the wheels--two of which have a little road rash.
Any other requests or if you want pictures of anything in particular, let me know. I am happy to answer any questions. Vehicle comes with all keys, manuals, and receipts for service, parts and maintenance.
Call or text me with any questions or for additional information. 917 eight five six 5191.
Some idiot scraping off an inspection sticker, nicked the a-pilar
Another nick on the rear rood grab

Yeah $20k is on par with trade in values on this vehicle.
You should be able to get more from a private sale. But then again it is all about timing!
GLWS this is a great car as you already mentioned.

Thanks! I priced it to sell!
To be honest, I have some buyers remorse (sellers remorse?). My wife wanted the new CX-9 Signature edition. It is also a nice vehicle but it is going to be hard pressed to replace the X5.
I can only keep one SUV, unfortunately.

We had one of these. Great car. Never had anything I can remember wrong with it. Bags of torque and very good to drive. GLWS.

I have gotten a few inquiries about the lien so I will address them here.
Vehicle is currently financed through BMW. The lien is rather small and if the I have a serious buyer, I can pay it off and have the title in hand. I prefer to wait on that though as I have a good interest rate and would rather not tie up cash unnecessarily but it is an option.
