stupid pricing.......a 650s, huracan, 458 spider are better buys for the money even though I love the RS. Hell, a 991 RS is better and a bargain in comparison!

No it's not stupid. This car is aimed at someone that will never drive it. It's very rare and has no miles. Is a 458 spider a better car than a 250 GTO at $50MM? I'm painting an extreme example to make a point. Anyone can buy a 458 spider and at way under MSRP because it ain't collectible. It's faster, handles better and has BT vs. a 250 GTO 😀

Now is this car worth this price? Not to me or you. But there are some people who buy cars not to drive them. And it's only worth this coin to those people. If you drive it, it will lose gobs of $$$ as soon as you do. So if u intend to buy something to drive then buy a 458 or a 650 S vs. this collectible...

Yup, garage art pieces like this car are not meant to be driven which is a complete shame. Definitely not a car for me or anyone else who is a driver. Again, I'll never understand buying a car which you don't have any intent on driving. Even if I had unlimited funds I'd be driving every single car that I'd own.

This is not PTS.
Just neglected and never driven. For some 'collectors', that's worth something I guess.

This isn't a PTS. And there isn't anything unique about it. It's a collector piece solely because people thought porsche would stop making manuals. Well the GT3 is coming back with one. The next RS isn't, but perhaps the next one will. But regardless even with that announcement the previous 997 GT3 still isn't going down in price.

The entire car market is in a bubble from the stock market doing horrible. And also from collectible ferrari's getting too expensive now. Did anyone notice the limited edition cars across all of porsche and ferrari shot through the roof at the same time within the last 2 years?

A scud was selling for 160k like 2 years ago and now people ask 400k for one? What changed in 2 years? There are other market forces at work here.

The only new car that deserves to be a collector piece is the FGT and CGT. You could also lump the 599 GTO in there too. Though the ferrari TDF pretty much replaced that. But we don't have a true replacement to the FGT or CGT.

I have owned one in white for 5 years, I can tell you it was the worst Porsche I have ever owned and I had many, always something breaks down, It wan not unique to mine, many 997.2 RS owners will atttest to this, I was so glad to get red of it last year and now look at the insanity in asking prices, I would not pay what the original list was for it.
BTW Aqua blue was not a PTS, and possibly the least ordered color RS.

I remember in 2010 looking for a regular 911 and blue was not a popular color. A couple dealers in Florida would call the blues "no sale blue" and would give you less on your trade because the cars would sit. It seems the same for the brown or even red today unless of course its a GT3 OR RS which would still sell.
Would want a 4.0 if I was collecting for another 100,000 dollars. But I guess if money did not matter would have a 3.8 & 4.0 but would take a gray with the silver wheels not this blue.
