The sell price of a any porsche has everything to do with knowing the market well and how long you want it to sit on the market.
Considering there has been no mention of the IMS bearing being upgraded on your car, we can assume it hasn't been done. If you want your car to sell, i'm sure it will be gone at $35-$36K which is just about the market on an "S" with original bearing.
"S" cars that are $40K+ sit on market for a long time

I've been hooked into the 997.1 market now for the past 9 months. Thinking of buying a 997.1S OR another 996 C4S.

I feel like this is one of those ads that in a couple of years someone will bump and say remember the good old days when you could buy a Cobalt 997S for under $40k. Beautiful car. Someone will be happy with this one.

IMS is an issue on 06 cars, albeit less so than pre-2006 cars.
However, unlike the pre-06 cars, the 06-08 bearings cannot be upgraded/serviced without disassembling the engine.

Where are you located in SoCal? I am looking for a 987.2 S or 997.1 TT, but may be interested in this beautiful 997.1S.

Dropped the price to 39 - this price is absolutely firm. I have no reason, and will not budge from here unless there is a very good reason. That's way more car than any 09+ Cayman S selling for a few grand more. Frankly I think it's ridiculous the car is still for sale but literally no one has even come to see it! I am certain the first to see it will purchase the car.
With that said, good luck to prospective buyers!

^^ Agree, I'm really curious why either the 997.1's are holding their values better than they should and/or 997.2's aren't. The delta for a much better car and less years just doesn't seem to be as big as I would have thought.

Do hang in there, I've had amazingly good luck with auto trader, selling cars. You could try eBay even if its just for the ad, (it really gets it out there!) then do the deal in person. In fact That's how I just bought my 08 Cobalt blue Cayman S turbo. 14k miles... paid exactly what your asking. GLWS
