If you think I don't admire or respect the CGT you misread my intent, it's phenomenal but there are a lot more reasons why these cars don't accumulate many miles too.

I do agree somewhat with your analogy but on the other-hand the safety of the modern hyper car has also progressed significantly. After I stopped stalling the CGT on my first drive I could appreciate it but never loved it. When I drove the 918 I felt completely at ease and absorbed by the car. I will freely admit going from lowly 993t or 987 Spyder I do not have a lot to compare these cars too but I do know what I like 918 every single time!
The CGT patents were not passed down like the 918 and the Veyron has VW parts marked all over.

The CGT was bespoke built by F1 guys with no budget. Didn't care that it takes a mechanic to change the battery or the clutch commands an engine out service.

The 918 seats are in the GT3RS and so on. So many of those patents are going to be passed down unlike the CGT.

No one understands the CGT within a few hours or miles. The guts and build are historical.

Changing the battery isn't an engine out service. Having mine done tomorrow.

"Keep the CGT, get rid of the lambos, and go buy your hypercar"

Completely agree. The Carrera GT is in my opinion the best car ever made and is far more desirable for me than the LaFerrari, P1, or 918. The only car I would even consider getting rid of one for is the McLaren F1.

Correct - as I posted it takes a mechanic.

Only other option is an expensive kit from Porsche.
