I can assure you the "average" person was never meant to own a Porsche - that includes the front engine models.

The average person was always meant to drive a used Honda, etc

Your cars are overpriced by 30-40% - all of them I've seen on this board - the 356, the 997.1 GT3 RS, this car. It's annoying, it DOESN'T represent the market.

I too am really turned off by these recent speculators/dealers posting nothing but way overpriced cars on Rennlist.

Perhaps PNH should throw in some of that herb they're smoking with this 918 "deal"

Lmfao. PNH Has bought and offered more. 1@2Rs cars In The last two years then probably most all other dealers Combined. And only but one has lasted. Over 90 days. Please. Carry on about your opinion of other cars if you desire But don't bring up rs. Cars in your argument because you clearly have no clue of that particular market.

Then our definition of average must be totally opposite of each other. I consider myself to be an average person and have owned 4 Porsches, two front engine and two rear.

+1...it's just stupid. But hey if some sucker with more money than brains wants to pay up more power to him. On the positive, this thread has given me another PTS blue color besides Voodoo Blue to think about getting when/if I can buy an RS and/or a GT4.

i dont know very much aobut 918 other than having driven a few of them. fast but does nothing for me. cannot comment on price.

my love is only with GT3/RS. to say PHN price is 30% over, you are wrong. there are RS and there are RS. i sold them one of my RS. they made less than $5000 on it.

i just paid $200,000 for an RS3.6. again, what you may think is a garage queen RS, may not be waht it tout to be. the one's i keep are way better than new, and there are a bunch of ppl buying up the supremely clean cars.

4.0 prices? a dear friend just turned down a $600,000USD cash offer on his 4.0. that's a 4.0 that's beyond clean. and i am sure higher offer will come and he will continue to decline.

this is the market. when you buy and replace as my RS as i have, you ARE the mkt.

Did the repair at Desert European last week require any paint work?

Stunning car. The ad and the dealer's remarks make me want to puke. Everyone I know who could afford it (and I do know a few who easily could) aren't stupid enough to throw away a few hundred grand.

I hope the dealer chokes on it. What I would call them is too impolite to mention. I'd never buy a car from them and would encourage anyone I know to do the same.

For that money truly collectible cars with far more inherent value beckon.

Well put...the only ones that would buy that car at that price are idiots who came into money with more money than brains (inheritance, musicians, and/or pro athlete type of money).

I think the reason they are asking 400K over -- and will likely get it -- is because most 918 owners aren't interested in selling. Those that I know, who have taken delivery, are too busy enjoying them (i.e. driving them).

P.S. It's the best cupholder I've ever owned. I use it all the time for my coffee. It even works while cornering at 1G+.

P.S.S. I really don't understand why people get so upset about dealers asking an amount over the manufacturers' suggested retail price. As customers, we can make a counter-offer or look elsewhere. If the true "market" price is MSRP or lower, then we should be able to find one at that price. If the market price is above MSRP, then isn't that just part of the capitalist system (charging what the market will bear)? It's not personal. It's business.
