Me Too......lots of activity, but no Serious offers ... still available....
I told my Son, he should start searching now for a 3rd shift Job at 7 eleven to help subsidize the Grad School Decision...... He just kind of looked at me
like "Shaggy" from Scooby Doo...huh

This is one of the best looking 996's I've seen... have a friend in the market and will pass this on to him. As for the reluctance to sell.... life lessons should start early and selling your car, while a nice and loving gesture, does not necessarily send the best msg to the kiddo. If you love what you do, then it will not feel like work and you will have much better chance of success. But also being realistic about future job prospects should be considered in the cost of an education. GLWS

Not to turn this into a Dr. Phil posting but I agree with Basalt, if the kid truly is passionate about the masters he/she should find a way to pay. The best thing my father ever did was cut me off after my first semester of college. I wasted his money by screwing around and not studying; not saying that is your situation. Amazing how serious I became when I had to work two and three jobs to pay for my degree. I certainly appreciated my education a lot more for sure. Again, sorry to post but I plan to make my child pay a portion of her education to the point I know she understands the sacrifices we parents make for our children. Finally, undergrad is one thing but I will draw the line for a masters.
End session, that will be $300.....

Still available...but I think not for Long...
It was a difficult decision to put the 911 on the Market...it always is when you sell one of these Cars...they are like Children.... Anyhow, I thought I had prepared myself for the "Selling process" and to be available and respond to "Educated" Potential Buyers in an Responsive time frame...
And I have had some Great/Intuitive/Detailed and Knowledgeable communications with quite a few Fellow Enthusiasts...
But I have to say, I was not prepared to receive so many Inquireys from exactly the Profile, I politely asked not to respond..."Dealers/Marketeers & Specialists"
This was precisely the reason I elected not to Put the Porsche on Ebay....
"Inside Sales Reps" from both Hemming's and DuPont Registry have continued to call and leave extensive VM's....Independent Dealers have left ridiculous offers and concepts....Really
1 Outfit emailed that they have extensive experience with the "Porsch" Marque and a very deep client list including Sports Professionals, Celebrities etc...
This "Kid" said he was authorized to offer $40,000 for my X50 , but the client wasn't really "hot" about the Color, really wanted light Gray Leather interior
didn't really care for the GT2 Kit and wanted to know what I had for Professional Audio equipment installed in the Car ????
I responded briefly, the Car has the Original Bose System and frankly I enjoy the Exhaust note from the Tubi System..
I had another "youngster" say he had a Customer all lined up and could get me $50,000 for the Car, but he required a commission of 7.5% AND that I needed to Organize and Subsidize a complete PPI aswell as Transport of the Car to South Florida.....
It was an easy decision....the 1st offer Wins.....
Anyway, and going forward, I really have enjoyed the contact with "Rennlisters" and the Enthusiast Community....
And in a Positive Spin...If I received sooo much ( 40% ) crap inquirey's on RL
Then I have to imagine it's 100% more on Ebay...
Thanks for the Vent Session

Hi Charles,
I completely understand and can relate. I just sold my Seal Gray Metallic 996tt after about a year and few months of denying lowballers, tirekickers, wannabe joyriders and the worst, internet auto sites. I got harassed almost every month so I feel your pain. The reason why I was asking is that I miss my car already and this car reminds me a ton of my old car and will be shopping for a car here soon, perhaps this winter. I am just waiting on my tenants in an investment property to end their lease in October so that I can sell the property and use some of the profit for my next toy. I will be subscribed to this thread, or better yet if you want to stay in personal contact my email is raviarju@gmail.com . Don't hesitate to let me know if the car sells/off market/whatever. Thanks.
