^Tough question. Perhaps some 3.8 guys can chime in as well. From my very brief time in a 2010 3.8 (a friend owns a 6spd) here is what i experienced.

The 3.8 felt smooth and refined, almost a little watered down and quiet to me. I believe the 3.6 has a more raw feel to it in terms of power delivery. I like the way the 3.6 hits, it just feels harder once boost comes on in terms of power delivery. My car is tuned so its not making stock like power levels, with race fuel the ruf 550 package is probably making closer to 580-600hp, as ruf is pretty conservative with their numbers and fueling makes a significant difference on how these cars perform and how much power they make. I tend to fill up on 109 octane unleaded race gas whenever i can. The car just feels like a different animal with said fuel.

The suspension in the r turbo is different from the tt.2. The bilsteins, bushings and stabilizers are ruf spec. The gt3 is probably a better comparison in terms of feel on the street or track. The stock 3.8 turbo will feel softer and probably roll more than mine.

In terms of quickness, general rule of thumb for these cars (pdk being the exception here) is that a ecu tuned 911 turbo with an exhaust/no cats is probably going to trap close to 126-130mph with the right fuel and a stock 911 turbo will trap anywhere from 121 to 124 depending on the driver. The stock pdk 3.8 is a different story due to the gearbox which makes them very quick, although a car like mine will still trap higher speeds. Lastly, I'm not a fan of any sort of autotragic box as i prefer to row the gears myself so the pdk has no appeal for me.

Hope that helps.

I know that car well, the original owner had it converted at the same time as mine. It's the real deal.

Ruf01 - was this a Canadian or US car originally? Obviously I saw that the conversion was done by RAC in Dallas. I saw you listed the location as Vancouver but your sig states Socal & BC... where's the car titled? Thanks.

Amazing car. There is no question that the 997 looks best in black!

Originally a U.S. car. I imported the car from Michigan to Vancouver Canada. The car is titled in Vancouver Canada.

I have a second home in Los Angeles that i visit, however i am currently living in Vancouver. That's why i put both locations in my sig.

If anyone is interested in the car just call me or email me at rufgeek@hotmail.ca...i'm not on the forums enough and i'm not the best at replying to pm's...
