Disheartening that Porsche is capable of building a better 'driver's car' than 911R by combining/improving upon 911R/GT3... but didn't. They held back with GT3 Touring (which is dumb name BTW).
I hope that the GT3 Touring is not the sendoff of N/A manual combo. If so, it should move much closer in value to 911R over time.

If the R seller didn't have a reserve which he did he could have had to pay sellers commission at 8%. Most deals have a reserve which eliminates that downside to the seller. He could have netted 340's approx. Still the car brought 379 and that is what someone was willing to pay for a well optioned delivery mile R. just sayin!

I've dabbled in buying, selling and have thoroughly enjoyed driving many, many Porsche cars over the past 40 years. I've seen markets raise and fall repeatedly after the introduction and fermentation period (after five years) of each model. I've also witnessed Porsche lying to it's customers twice with regards to the 911 Speedster and now, a fourth edition is about to be released. Perhaps the 911R is a different animal, but if history repeats itself, we may see another 911R. I do however have a friend who is a close friend of Andy Preuninger, and Mr. P has assured my friend that Porsche will never make another 911R. Never say Never...right?
I'm pretty confident that a good percentage of Rennlisters would buy a 911R if they fell back to MSRP, but unfortunately they won't. As soon as the cars start selling under $250K, the demand will start to grow and prices will either stabilize in or around this price, or perhaps start to increase again. As I previously mentioned, WHITE...SILVER and BLACK are fairly common. PTS cars will always bring a premium as they do in other models. I highly doubt you'll ever find a PTS 911R for under $325K. Unless of coarse, they start making the 911R again, and then all hell will break loose. Have you noticed the prices of the 997 Speedster are now coming back down to reality since the introduction of the 991.2 Speedster???

I was with a friend of mine in Monterey last week who is dealing in these cars often, he is convinced they will eventually come down to sticker. When I asked about his reasoning he said the same, there is not enough differences to justify the current spread. I also think they will surely came down below 300m not sure about sticker, I guess will see.

I don't think its moving much from here. Its corrected quite a bit our the past year. Its a numbered car, its stick, and with the LWFW its a hoot to drive.
Agreed the new motor is better but most of us can't extract 80% of what these cars are capable of.
This car has caused more discussion over price than any other car in my 12 years on Rennlist.
To the OP...much respect for your financial discipline.

I have been looking also. I drove one with a single mass fly wheel and one with a dual mass fly wheel. I liked the single mass better for some reason. I thought I read the single mass FW was supposed to be harder to drive? What is the difference in driving dynamics? Atlantis motors has one he will take $300k for but it’s a Canadian car with DMFW and 18 way seats.

Dual mass is easier in traffic and makes less noise. Harder to stall.
Single is rattly and easier to stall but easier to rev match on track.
