It's great that one dealer sold at MSRP, but requesting that all is a bit ridiculous.

Yeah asking dealers to sell untitled cars at the price set by manufacturers is insane. I mean they might as well give them away.

Maybe trying to rationalize your own choices?

I stopped after the first post in the referenced thread. I'm not excusing the dealer, but the buyer of the 993 committed two cardinal sins. First, you don't have a Porsche dealer do a PPI on an air cooled 911 as most know next to nothing about those cars. Second, you never have a PPI done at the shop that serviced the car. The buyer didn't do his homework.

Not really. I would love if all sold it at MSRP, but the market sets the price.

MSRP isn't a set price by the manufacturer. It's a SUGGESTED price. Hence why they can sell it UNDER MSRP as well.

With all the complaining about MSRP, I would surprised if it was a Rennlister.. There are people buying above MSRP, but they aren't the ones griping about prices on Rennlist. Its all those old farts with money... dang nabit... get off my golf course!!

They also like to tell stories about how much snow they walked in everyday to school right after coming home from the coal mines where they worked 27hr days.

This dealership should do the right thing and just give this car away as a non-charitable, non-tax write off transaction. Be a "stand up" dealership by forgoing profit and/or losing money on this transaction so that everyone on an enthusiast car forum will respect you even more and make the hollow claim that they will now refer tons and tons of business to you for "doing the right thing."

I live on the other side of the country and never will walk into your dealership, but if you want to earn my business, you better have a 400ft salt water aquarium in the waiting room and give out free $100 bills to potential customers. I have many other ideas on how to run your business, so feel free to contact me for the Kinkos presentation I created. My email is ****thepeanutgalllery@aol.com
bahahaha... Mr. Singh's earnings of a handshake and a hug will be reward enough... chalk up another one to the Rennlist ethics committee
