I think the 2nd gear synchros are going out on my 2000 996 carerra (2 wheel drive).

It is for sale, and I think this is a deal breaker for a lot of buyers.

I'm okay with either replacing the synchros or putting in a replacement transmission. If I do put in a replacement transmission, I don't want to trade one set of issues for another, so I need to know it is in great working condition.

So...I'm looking for a new/old stock or mint condition used 2nd gear synchro set or a good used transmission with all known good gears and synchros.

I'd need it within a few hundred miles of 05445 (Charlotte Vermont) so I can come pick it up, or have it shipped to me.

Please let me know what you have and what you are asking.

I ordered the three synchro parts new. If anyone has a good loose gear wheel 2nd (99630294200 Loose Gear Wheel 2nd Gear) and the 2nd gear guide sleeve mechanism (99630406102 Guide Sleeve 1st/2nd Gear), both with sharp undamaged points, I am interested. New or used.

Thanks, Slakker. I was hoping someone had something they weren't using that they might give me a deal on. I suspect GBox will charge top dollar, so I'm going to hold off until I get it apart and see if there is any damage before I call them.
