Freshwater flood salvage title in 2004 (I have some records from the insurance adjuster)
My name is Tim. For a time, I was the Sports Car Product Manager at Porsche Cars North America. During that time, I purchased this 944 Turbo from one of the driving instructors, whose services I regularly used. The car was pretty rough when I got it. The clearcoat was gone, paint was faded, etc. And it had a salvage title due to flood. Under normal circumstances, I would have avoided a car like that. However, I trusted the person I purchased the car from and as luck would have it, continue to have a professional relationship with him. The OEM side of the auto industry is very small.
Shortly after purchasing the car, the head gasket started to go. That began what I thought was a don't look back style rebuild of the car. Most of that is detailed in the two threads below.
Rebuilt mostly by Kerry Singley, a well known 944 tech in Atlanta.

Repainted by my brother at his shop.

Without rehashing everything covered in those threads, the car has been repainted and looks fantastic. It has a new clutch, and tons of engine mods that were professionally installed. Since I did this build during my tenure at Porsche Cars North America, I had access to OEM parts at a deep discount, as well as R/L, and Pelican Parts. Since this car has a title issue, it was not a quick fix and flip. I built the car as I would have wanted it and never cared about the title because a) I did not think I would sell it, and b) the car suffered no structural damage, and has never shown electrical issues either.
Since the car has sat for a while, it will need new timing belt and perhaps a water pump while you are in there. I can get this work done at additional cost if you'd rather not worry about that.
Moreover, I never really drove it after the work was completed. I had moved on to another auto manufacturer by that time, and was living in NJ. Therefore it will need some final sorting to get the most out of the legendary Vitesse Stage 2 turbo kit.
Ultimately, this would be a great car for someone who wants a clean, tuned driver and is not worried as much about future value. Would make a great start for a track car, or a dual purpose car.
Car is located in Phoenix AZ.
Thanks for reading.

Tim,
Nice looking 951, that graphite grey color is fantastic, one of my all time favorites the factory offered. If I was local I would be over tonight with cash in hand, but alas it is not and finding the time to road trip from AZ to NC not exactly in the cards. GLWS.
