This 2003 Porsche 911 Carrera 4S is a 6-speed manual example optioned with natural comfort leather upholstery and power seats. Power is sent to all four wheels by a stock 3.6-liter flat-six with only 15k miles. The car comes with the original factory options sticker and manuals. Now showing 63,759 miles, this 996 C4S is being offered with a clean Wisconsin title in the seller’s name. The car has been stored during the winters in a temperature controlled garage. PM me if interested.

Finished in Lagogrun Metallic (Dark Teal Metallic - M6W), this car came equipped from the factory with rear window wiper. The paint has never been touched up or repainted. There is a 3” blemish on the passenger side fender that was polished instead of repainting. There are also a few touch up marks done by the previous owner. Some wear can be seen on forward facing surfaces from normal wear.

Further pictures done by request.

Stock 18″ alloys show some rash and are fitted with Bridgestone Potenza tires.

Inside, the Natural draped black leather includes additional upholstery on the dash and door panels. Options include an Alpine/Infinity audio system along with options listed below. The leather shows minor creasing, but is in great condition. The digital odometer shows 63,759 miles.

Options:

XKS Dark burr maple center air vent bracket
XNW Dark burr maple dashboard trim strip
XPX Dark burr maple instrument surround
XSC Porsche crest embossed in headrests
XE8 Dark burr maple gear lever ****
XE9 Dark burr maple handbrake lever
XJ4 Leather covered ignition lock surround
425 Rear window wiper
513 4-way electrically adjustable lumbar support, right seat
586 4-way electrically adjustable lumbar support, left seat
680 Bose sound system (analog)
939 Draped leather rear seats
982 Draped leather front seats

The 3.6-liter flat-six produced 320 horsepower when new and is paired with a 6-speed manual transmission. Records show services have been performed by Porsche dealerships or certified Porsche technicians. The original IMS bearing remains in place.

The engine was replaced at about 62,750 miles with a Porsche remanufactured engine. The engine came from a donor car with roughly 13,000 miles on it. The replacement engine was remanufactured in 2005 and includes refreshed and updated 997 series internals to Porsche specifications. Which resolved several of the known failures in the M96 engine. Upon request I can provide records and Carfax from the donor car which suffered a collision to the front right.

This recent service also included the following in October 2017:

- Porsche remanufactured engine installed

- New Oil at time of engine swap and again 250 miles later

- New front right and left radiators along with full coolant system flush with Porsche brand pink coolant.

- New Air Oil Separator

Tires are between 3mm and 4mm tread depth

Rims show some age and clear coat flaking on a few tires near lug bolts.

Maintenance: $16k+ without regular maintenance costs

6/24/15 – Misfire in cylinder 1 $977.70

7/7/15 – AOS Replaced $950.00

4/6/15 – LN IMS, Rear main seal, New Clutch $3,079

12/5/2015 – New Spark plugs and coils $450

11/2/2017 – Purchased new front radiators and AOS for New Engine $691

11/14/2017 – New (Porsche rebuilt engine with 13k miles) installed labor cost $2,277

· Coolant lines flushed and refilled with Porsche OE coolant

· Amsoil Synthetic oil change

· Oil filter kit installed

· Refilled hydraulic fluid

· R134A Freon refilled

10/27/2017 – Purchased used Porsche rebuilt engine with ~13k miles $8,000

5/1/2018 – Full oil change with Amsoil by CS Motorsports, WI.

Neat car in a great, unusual color - so this has a 997.1 base Carrera motor in it?

Probably help to document here what was done to address the issues with that engine prior to installation.

The engine came out of 996.2 with 40k miles and was in a front end collision. Was very minor, I'll try and find a pic. But this car had the new Porsche remaned engine installed at ~27,000 miles. Its a M96.03. Here are some pictures before it was installed. Very clean and you can tell it had very low miles on it. Donor car was an auto, which is why the transmission mounting point is so clean looking compared to manual.

I will also post pic of the engine serial number shortly.

I'm not entirely sure. I don't remember seeing M6W as a paint code for this year, but there were a few hundred produced with this color. Even some turbos, but very rare. I've never seen another one in person. It's gorgeous!

Engine VIN M96/03AT66569089

engine type is m96/03
"AT" designates remanufactured or Austauschmotor
665 designates 2005

Upon close inspection of the coil packs most parts were 997 parts. Which also included the larger 997 IMS bearing with a much lower failure rate.

This engine is solid.

Beautiful car. If I were in the market I would be after this one.
Regarding the motor, were you just fortunate to find one like this for $8k? Or is there a vendor that has these regularly? What happened with the original?

Yes, I was fortunate to get this engine for $8k. It was a smart buy since the seller didn’t realize what they had! It pays to read rennlist every night before bed!

The original engine had a failure but I never opened it up to look. All I did was drop the oil pan and found a bunch of chunks of metal. Not worth spending money or time to split it.
