Thank you my friend, I have two weeks to find this shifter before my car goes in for some major work (Engine maintenance & pining, LSD rebuild, LWFW and 997.2 RS clutch, Cup steering wheel, New toe links w locking plate and a few more items)!

So If I cant find a cup shifter I will either go with a numeric shifter or a 997.2 GT3RS Shifter.

Have you driven a 996 GT3 with those shifters? Which do you prefer between the two (numeric vs 997 RS)? I have my heart set on a cup shifter but if I cant find one these will be back up. After all there has to be a reason all Porsche racecars used the Cup shifter...

I agree with Mooty as always. I HIGHLY recommend the Cup shifter. All it takes is a few seconds handling one and you'll understand why it's so awesome. It has a rifle bolt feel and is perfectly weighted. I prefer it to the shifter mechanism in my former F40.JBO

Spoke to Gert already as well, as I have parts on order currently (Cup steering wheel, cables, splitter), but unfortunately he cannot source a cup shifter either. =[

if you end up getting a numeric dont waste your time with any vendors. just call dan the owner of numeric and deal with the source. he often has a blem or 2 for sale

-Gert @ Carnewal sells these for less then what your asking Brand new factory part. I would rethink your ask... "P96223 Cup Shifter Cables: 475 euro"

Also I am still searching for the 996 cup shifter (already have brand new cables). Going with a 997.2 RS shifter (since its the closest to cup shifter) on my 996 GT3, however I would like to find a cup shifter eventually. Please let me know if anyone willing to sell - new or used with 10k miles or less.
