Up for sale is my gorgeous guards red over tan 1992 Porsche 968 Coupe, 6 speed. The car is fresh off a complete professional detail with a light (single stage) paint correction. I cannot believe the way the single stage paint shines...it's amazing. In the last 100 miles I have taken care of every possible maintenance item I could think of including belt, water pump, new OEM shocks and struts, fluids, brake pads, brake rotors, rebuilt & refreshed calipers, stainless brake lines, converted and charged up A/C, etc. I don't have the benefit of a lot of the car's history so I figured I would address things that would even be remotely questionable. The car runs like a top, shifts flawlessly, and needs nothing. It's the nicest 968 I have ever seen by a long way. This was the very first 968 Coupe in North America and was optioned and used as a Porsche Show/exhibition vehicle. The car has all the desired options including sport seats and LSD.

Those who follow BAT will know the car failed to meet reserve this last week at $24,300. Since then I have had a lot of interest but no firm deals just yet. This is a very special car that triples down as a great Cars'n'Coffee car, significant Porsche collectible, and back road weekender. There are a ton of photos and some Q&A that may help potential buyers on the BAT site - LINK HERE.

North American 968 Register production profile – Coupe NS820067
  • NA 968 coupe 1992-1995 Production sequence number of 2,234: #7 (the first 6 were retained by Porsche)
  • NA 968 coupe 1992 Production sequence number of 649: #7
  • Exterior Color statistics: 1 of 547 G1 Guards Red coupes (2nd most popular color on coupe)
  • Exterior/Interior Color combo stats: 1 of 207 G1 Guards Red k coupes paired with a Cashmere/Black interior (2nd most popular combo on coupe)
Factory options with option codes:
o LC Partial leather in Cashmere
o 220 Limited Slip Differential
o 383/387 Driver and Passenger Sport seats (1 of 154 coupes)
o 403 17” Cup1 wheels
o 490/494 Hi-Fi sound with 10 speakers and amps
o 691 AM/FM single in-dash CD-player (CD-2)
o 740 Show/Exhibition car preparation (1 of 10 coupes)

Per Jeff Coe (968 Registry guru):
The car is the seventh coupe produced for the North American market. It has a build date of September of 1991 and has the early vehicle features such as the recessed hood badge and the larger, edged rear 968 emblem. Also, it has option code 740 indicating it did show and exhibition duty for PCNA. Even though this car is #7 it was the first NA 968 that actually made it to North America! #1- #6 were retained and never made it.

She has 73,xxx miles.

The wheels on there now are very clean German made 18” Veloce 3.6’s. They really do look awesome.

Thanks for looking!

Just purchased an old school Bandit Trans Am project which will be my new obsession for a while. I could really use the space so I posted the car on Ebay and set the starting price at $24,500. That bid or above takes it.

Simply gorgeous. The pic quality doesn't hurt either, very clear & sharp!
