Default 1989 Porsche 944 S2 - Only 67000km! Canadian $

Year: 1989
Make: Porsche
Model: 0
Mileage (numbers only please): 67000
Color: Sand
Price (no $ sign please): $15000
Private or Dealer Listing: Private Listing
Location (Region): Canada
Body Style: Coupe
Transmission Type: Manual - 5 speed
2 or 4 Wheel Drive?: 2 Wheel Drive
Engine Type: Fuel Injection
Stereo System: AM Radio

Here is a very rare and extremely desirable Porsche 944 S2. The S 2 version comes with the large 3.0 L 4 cyl engine making over 200 hp from a naturally aspirated engine. Still considered one of the best handling cars of all time, the 944 is perhaps the best bang for the buck in the vintage sports car world today. Originally from Japan, it has been in Canada for over 10 years and has been lovingly owned and taken care of. Timing Belt, water pump and clutch have all be done on this mechanically perfect Porsche. The A/C works. 1 panel may have had work at some point but it is hard to decipher. Out of an estate from BC, this has been inspected and is ready for Alberta registered ownership. One of the lowest mileage 944 available and ultra rare in the S2 configuration. Manuals and receipts with car.
$15000 obo. Cdn.

Love the interior. Don't see that pattern style in the US often.

Same query. Starting with model year 1989 all production headed for sale in USA required and fitted with air bags. Go figure, PCNA HQ then in Reno, NV handled the importation and distribution for our neighbors to the north, Canada.

Hi Fellas, as per the description, the car has only been in Canada since 07. It is Japanese spec which may explain the lack of airbag.

On a side note, I have a really low mile 90 Miata that doesn't have an airbag like some other regions as per Canadian spec. I also had a Countach that was carburatted while U.S car were Fuel Injected. Canada does seem to have different regulations, however this car is Japanese in origin.

I understand this car is from Japan.
Canadian 944T 86, 87 and 88 cars did not have airbags, or ABS. And I seem to remember no headlight washers.
89 944T's were often left over 88's in full S trim. At least here, eh!

This car is over 25 years old and presents no issue importing into the States.

I have a model year 1989 944 Turbo that was originally delivered new in Canada without airbags. Car was recently federally imported to the United States, now titled and registered in California. So there you go.

Not the same history as this Japanese market import, but can confirm at least some Canadian 944 variants were delivered sans airbags for the 1989 model year.

Seller, GLWS. Unusual and cool color scheme on this S2.

Several manufacturers sold cars in Japan that were LHD. Mercedes and Porsche specifically.
