I'm trying to sell through this first small run of MKII covers and will use that to fund the R&D for the MKI covers. Hopefully can get started in the next couple months with a prototype coming by fall.

The red is solid red and the blue has a dark grey around the light making it two -tone. Both look great!!!

Cross post.

I hadn't considered headlight covers until I saw Andrew's design. My wife purchased a set as an early Father's Day gift. I have to say that purchasing these from Andrew was a true pleasure. His communication was fantastic! Emailing with updates every step of the way keeping me informed of the progress. He sent pictures once the painting was completed and followed up with a tracking number once they were shipped. The fit and finish was excellent. I'm really happy with how they turned out. If you're on the fence I would say go for it.

I found that 100% silicone worked the best for attaching them. I tried 3M tape originally and didn't like the extra height it added. I would also recommend removing the lights for installation and sliding the cover as far forward as possible.

The covers don't obstruct the blinkers / hazards lights at all. See video.

Obviously an improvement over normal 996 combination light design, but to my eye on the 2-tone versions, I think they would look better if the the non-car-color ring were thicker along the inside vertical to be the same width that it is at the top and bottom of the light. It getting narrower makes for an odd effect, like it's an add-on (which it is), but I think doesn't need to look that way.

Just my $0.02 - take it for what it's worth (which is probaby $0.02 LOL)

I think it looks great! I would go with a 1 color car match.

@Slopesider thanks for the nice words and for posting the pictures. Your car looks fantastic! Wow, the color match came out pretty good as well even though they were pre-painted.

@Petza914 thanks for the feedback. The reason for the thinner vertical part of the ring is because that is how the 997 lights are as well. Also, it helps to make it look circular when you look at the lights from the front. If the border was thick all the way around, it looks more oval from the front, which is fine but just wanted to give you my rationale.

If anyone else has feedback I welcome it. I would like to make some tweaks to the existing version along with a brand new version for MK1 lights in the near future.

Will these be available long term or is this just a one time limited production run? I'm moving for work in the next few months and it not a good time to drop $600 on car parts but I would love to have a set of these for my 2003 Turbo.

I haven't decided yet for sure but my inclination is to do another run if I can sell through this one. Regardless, shoot me a note when you are ready! Thanks.

Andrew, nice work....I'm interested, how are these mounted? I do have a 2003 black cab, would like to have them painted.

Mdnyte, thanks for the compliment. They are mounted using either double sided 3m tape like this:

Or silicone adhesive. Some people prefer silicone since it is less bulky and the covers lay flatter.

Default FOR SALE: Headight Covers

Hello all... I have two sets of Andrew's headlight covers for sale. They are top quality, and very little mileage. I'm trading up to a 997, and no longer need the headlight covers. Thanks to Andrew for creating a very quality product. I have one set in Arctic Silver (with gray headlight ring), and the other set is in Seal Gray (with silver headlight ring). Make me an offer. If you're in Central Ohio, I can deliver or meet up... Otherwie, I'll be shipping from Central Ohio. Thanks much!
