All receipts for the $38K invested to date. $29K by previous owner & $9K by me with Patrick Motorsports locally (see attached). Certificate of Authenticity from Porsche Cars North America. I received some good advice from Tom on the 914 World forum where I
also listed this 1973 914 2.0 for sale. Here is the post that I added:

QUOTE(Tom_T @ Oct 22 2018, 08:16 AM)
Hi Eduardo,

You might want to put in some of the back history of this nice Ravenna
back in NC before you got it, since it was advertised & I believe sold on
914world then, & a lot of people wanted it, because it was so nice (same
for your Rennlist & other ads). Any of the history & documents back to
day one are always good for a well kept 914 or any Porsche.

It's really too bad that it didn't work for you in PHX, but I understand
having to drive my 73 2L in suit & tie for work back in it's DD days 70s-
80s when it got to the 90s-100s+ here in SoCal!

Your 914's production date is 3 days after mine was 1st sold in CA (I'm
2nd owner 31.5 months later), so it's an early 73 MY 2.0 & in the "914S"
era, as well as being super clean. You could eat off that engine & early
"crosshatch" airbox!

Good Luck!
Tom

///////

Thanks Tom for that suggestion. I found this 1973 914 2.0 in YouTube in 2016
when I decided to look specifically for a 'Ravenna Green' example. I just love
that color...and colors in Porsches is my passion as some of you know from my
many posts in Rennlist (991 gt3, 991 & 981 forums).

https://rennlist.com/forums/991-gt3-gt3rs-and-911r-229/

Here is the video where I first saw this car. It was posted by Black Forest Racing
in Denver, NC where 914 racing mechanic John Forbes operates his business. And
he was the one that totally rebuilt the engine for this car & supervised it's restoration...
although not to concours standards. But this is one of the best engines I have ever
experienced in a 914!

I contacted John Forbes in the summer of 2016 and his son put me in touch with
the owner that had purchased the vehicle right after the car was put up for sale
in 2015. This gentleman contacted me as he was interested in selling it to raise
funds for his 914 gt tribute project & emailed me the following report:

"Hi Eduardo,

I am the owner of the Ravenna Green 1973 Porsche 914-2.0 that John Forbes
and Black Forest Racing(BFR) sold to me on 6/2/15. I purchased the car for
$18,000 and have receipts for additional improvements costing over $9,000.
I am in no hurry to sell the car and have already turned down an offer for
$20,000. I would like to sell the car (if I find the right buyer) as it is the
most desirable year and engine in a very rare and desirable color combination.

The car was taken apart and restored to a driver quality level by BFR. The
entire floor pan was replaced and the hell hole was repaired with new metal.
Both of these corrections were done by a skilled fabricator who I have entrusted
to build a 916-GT clone. I have the Porsche COA verifying how this car was born.
John advised me that the engine case and transmission are matching numbers.

The engine was hand built by John and included new cylinders and pistons, a
mild camshaft upgrade and a 3-angle valve job.I have driven the car around
3,000 miles and it runs perfectly—easy to start, powerful, smooth and no oil
consumption or leakage. Just changed the oil using correct Zinc containing
oil and OEM oil filter. Just had John rebuild the transmission and all he had
to replace were 2 synchros and an operating?? ring??. All gauges work, no
smoking from exhaust and strong runner. I would get in this car and take a
trip with no worries.

I had paintless dent removal work on rear decklid and had paint professionally
cut and buffed as the paint was never touched after it was sprayed and it did
not look good. Huge improvement! Interior appears to be all original with the
exception of new carpeting. Interior is inn good but not great condition. Dash
pad has 1 very small defect but no cracks and each door panel has a small area
of cracking.Gauges look good and I had the speedometer/odometer rebuilt and
the clock was also rebuilt and functional. There is no radio. Seats are in good
condition with no defects.

After purchasing the car, I turned it over to an old friend who was chief mechanic
on Sebastien Bourdais’s INDY car at Newman-Haas Racing and his car won the
Champ Car World Series Championship four years in a row. He currently works
at Joe Gibbs Racing in the Engineering Dept. My friend owned a 914 for many
years and I hired him to go over the entire car. Needless to say, he is an outstanding
mechanic who goes for perfection. He went over the entire electrical system and
thoroughly cleaned the main fuse box and all the grounds and cable ends throughout
the car. The engine compartment was restored to near concours standards with
all the tin blasted and repainted. The fuel injection wiring harnesses and spark plug
wires were replaced with fully reconditioned wiring. New nuts and bolts were used
in the engine compartment and after periodic cleaning this part of the car is outstanding.
Looks like a new car when viewing the engine compartment. Shift linkage was
completely rebuilt and car shifts as good as a new 914. New starter and clutch
cable. Major tune up with valves properly adjusted and new plugs, etc.

Overall, this car is an outstanding driver quality car and very roadworthy for an
extended trip. I have receipts for all the new parts and work and you could not
build a 914-2.0 to this level in the $ 20Ks. Please email to set up a phone call
if you are interested in a delayed purchase of this car.I would welcome an
independent inspection/appraisal if you are unable to come test drive the car
before making an offer.

My 916 GT replica is going to cost me 70-80K dollars and the car will not be
finished for another 6 months. The only way I will part with the car now is if
I receive a strong offer to compensate me for selling this great car early. I
drive the car routinely and park my 640HP Shelby GT500 as the 914 is such
fun to drive.

Look forward to hearing from you if you are still interested in the car.

Sincerely,
"

Let me see if I can find the original thread where this car was discussed here on
914 World when it was for sale in 2015 and I'll post it.

***
I have invested an additional $9000+ at Patrick Motorsports since I purchased
the car in the Fall of 2016. If anyone is interested, I can post the detailed invoice
listing all the items that were worked on, or added, by Patrick Motorsports. They
include turbo tie rod ends, new Bilstein Sport shocks, new H4 driving lights, new
sealed Odyssey battery, replaced fuel lines, new German weave carpeting in cabin,
new alternator/generator, etc, etc, etc!

Regardless all of these improvements I have made, I can't get around the fact
that A/C is quite necessary here in Scottsdale to enjoy this car year-round. This
isn't cool & foggy Carmel, CA where I previously lived for 16 years & whose
coastal climate would make it perfect as a daily driver for this 914 2.0!

I encourage anyone interested in purchasing this 1973 914 2.0 to pay me a
visit & see it for yourself to make sure you know its condition & feel it's strong
engine.

Saludos,
Eduardo

Hi Eduardo - can't believe you won't keep it if not merely for the paint!

Gorgeous car - GLWS!

What a terrific looking 914! And an excellent for-sale ad. Just made GCFSB, which should direct some traffic to your F/S post.

In the Rennlist 914 forum, where I started a thread about this 'Ravenna Green' 914 when I acquired it two years ago,
there has been some interesting comments that are worth repeating. And if you get interested in this car, I suggest
you look up the thread (at link below) and read the whole history I previously posted!

I've driven the car a few times and can vouch for it. Very clean and it runs great!! I'm actually surprised he's selling
it but there is a rumour going around he wants one of those Italian F cars!! ( I think he'll regret trading from a German
car...)
Thank you Stu for your vouching for the 'Ravenna Green' 914 2.0. It is indeed a strong engine which runs very well.

Thanks Pissedpuppy. As many know, 'Green' is my favorite color on a Porsche. I also had a 'Signal Green'
991 gt3, which I also sold last year. But I am working on getting a Fiat...so I need to make some sacrifices.
