Porsche Washer Fluids
Still working on the front grills for my 991.2, but took the time (yeah, too much time) to investigate Porsche washer fluid compatibility. Some reports on the interwebs suggest that summer and winter fluids cannot be mixed, and if done, will gum thing up.
Here is the factory summer concentrate. Normal mix is 100:1.
And here is the factory winter fluid, also a concentrate. Mix ratios can vary from 2:1 to 1:2, depending on desired freeze protection.
And here begins the nerdy experiment. First summer
concentrate and water (about 1:10). As others have pointed out, this contains alcohols and other magic stuff that seems to work well, but does sometimes leave a film.
With some winter concentrate added (about 1:1 with previous mix).
After 24 hours, no sign of any separation, goo, or other nasty reaction.
And after 72 hours. Still nothing.
So based on this incredible science, I would not hesitate to mix the factory concentrates. Of course, adding any non-factory stuff will likely turn to napalm and incinerate your car.

Good stuff.
I've always been impressed with VW and Porsche factory windshield fluids.
