I thought I'd kick off this weekend's first annual End Intermediate Shaft Bearing Discrimination weekend with one of the many images circulating the internet.

This poor 996, based on its personalized plate ("kaput"?), has no doubt experienced IMS bearing failure...so it knows all too well the stigma of IMSBD.

If you or a loved one has been made to feel like a bottom-feeder, a poseur, a sham...or even (gasp) a 944 owner...you're not alone. Post up your 996's anti-IMSBD message and proudly declare that you, too, will no longer be ashamed. Shrug off the chains of IMSBD!

You know I have to give my like credentials all the time, because we’re a little disadvantaged—but you look at the IMSB deal, the thing that really bothers me—it would have been so easy, and it’s not as important as these lives are (IMSB is powerful; my uncle explained that to me many, many years ago, the power and that was 35 years ago; he would explain the power of what's going to happen and he was right—who would have thought?), but when you look at what's going on with the 29 modes of failure—now it used to be 28, now it’s 29—but when it was 28 and even now, I would have said it's all in the messenger; fellas, and it is fellas because, you know, they don't, they haven’t figured that the women are smarter right now than the men, so, you know, it’s gonna take them about another 150 years—but the Persians are great negotiators, the Iranians are great negotiators, so, and they, they just killed, they just killed the IMSB...,

I'll tell you, the thing about the IMSB - and you probably didn't know this - is that it's actually a pretty good thing. The press won't tell you that because they're dishonest, but it's true - that I can tell you. Believe me, it's a good thing. Listen to me, I got a call the other day from a TRUbro owner - great guy, I've known him for years, by the way - and he says "Listen, the real issue here is the way it's implemented." So true, you can believe that. I didn't believe it at first because of all the reporting out there saying "OHH these things are sooo bad!" So I said to my friend - who's truly an inspiring guy (great developer, by the way - his buildings are FANTASTIC). So I said to him "ya know, what if we were to create a Rennlist thread" - you know the site, right? Great site, that I can tell you. Lots of fine Porsches - the best Porsches money can buy, I might add. And so I said to him "what if we create a thread & title it the IMSBD awareness thread, ya know?" And so he says he's interested - not surprising by the way because he's a really talented guy, very sharp might I add. And so anyway, we're looking at this issue, which the fake news has done HARRRABLE job reporting - which they usually do by the way - and so an honest thread is needed, am I right? And so that's how it went, I can promise you that.

Look. For the last time. There is a perfectly reasonable solution to the IMSB. 100% guaranteed to make sure it never harms your engine.

1. Remove IMSB.
2. Send to gold plater.
3. Put it on your desk.

Will absolutely 100% never threaten your engine again.
