Default 991.2 protective mesh grills

are they available for the 991.2?

Has any aftermarket company developed some protective mesh grills for the front bumper?

I just put the Zunsports grilles in my new GTS. Easy install and look very professional. Cost was about $250 and they install from the front of the bumper - no removal necessary

That's because the 991.2 non-GTS models have dynamic vanes that open and close to trade off drag for cooling when required. My guess is they're closed at high speed when most damage from road crap would occur.

Closed at times or not, my C2 front intakes gather LOTS of junk (like 2 inches of grasshoppers during a recent drive), and the radiators already show some minor stone dings.

Working on a grill prototype (and not Zappos bix cardboard).

Actually, the shutters can open at high speed due to high engine load. And at low speed due to lack of flow through. And at any speed if ambient temperatures are high or if sport+ mode is active and psm is in sport or off mode.

I had Zunsport grills on my Cayman, but wouldn't bother with my CS. Don't want to compromise the function of the vanes.

Hey everyone! We currently have them for the GTS and Sport Design with the rest soon to follow. I will be sure to update everyone here as they are released. That being said, if anyone has a Carrera with the dynamic vanes and would like to make a trip to Vermont we have a prototype ready for final fitment that we would be happy to install for free...

I can confirm that this is a good deal! I had a great day visiting these guys and enjoyed participating in the process of removing the bumper, fitting the grilles and putting everything back together. They were great hosts and it was an enjoyable and memorable day. Plus I got to drive my car for about 11 hours that day! (I'm amazed at how comfortable a sports car can be, I found it much better than my 997).
