This is my first 911 and Porsche, so I really have very little in the way of institutional knowledge. I've started digging through the forum, and am a member of the local PCA club, so there are plenty of gurus I can pester for advice.
Picked it up from a dealer in Indiana for a good price. Just got delivered off afternoon.
168k miles on the clock, and the engine feels really strong. Stock exhaust is kinda underwhelming though. Should be an easy fix.
Couple odds and ends weren't working after delivery, but they are relatively minor so far. Overall I think it'll be a fun ride.
I'll get it up on a lift this week and see how things look underneath.
Welcome and congrats! I have had mine for almost a year and absolutely love the thing. I am about to put on the muffler deleted to give it the roar I want instead of the purr all the time.
funny story from today. Horn isn't working and I was going through some of the causes on RL. The fuse was missing, so I replaced that. It beeped quickly and then nothing else. Took the car downtown for the day, and as we were pulled up to the curb to pick up my wife, and the horn starts blaring. So much so I thought it was a truck honking at me. All eyes honed in on the ahole in the 911 laying on his horn annoying everyone as I struggled to pull over safely and remove the fuse cover and pull the fuse out. My wife and family could not stop laughing. Good news is I think that narrows it to the bushings on the horn bracket. Tomorrow's project.
The OEM Xenons came with headlight washers, but someone might have "deleted" them. We deleted the washers on our 996 aero for aesthetics and "weight savings"
Welcome and congrats on the new car. I like that interior!
You have lots of exhaust options from really cheap to $$$$$. I'm sure you can find one you like.
