Default Dry Ice Cleaning

Has anyone had their engine/undercarriage dry ice cleaned in the GTA? Who did you use?

I saw a car that they had cleaned. It was very impressive. The cost quoted was...well...I could do a lot more than clean my engine with that kind of money.

Ya, but the equipment is not cheap. 40-50k last time I looked at them, plus media which must be ordered as you need it.

I'm guessing the target market is more on the restoration side vs detailing.

Another alternative is steam, as that equipment is not as pricey. I almost scored a Vapor Rhino a few months ago for 3k on kijiji.

Somewhat related. I managed to locate a Dupray Carmen to rent for this weekend. I will be attacking the undercarriage on an 89 928 I'm restoring and since the motor and suspension are still out of the car it's the perfect time to clean. Will post some pics of my results Sunday night

Oddly it is very hard to find any steam rentals in Ontario but there are tons in Quebec.

Hey Adam I have the baby brother to that unit made in the same italian factory. We used to import and sell them a number of years ago. Let me know if you want to borrow it for an extended period. I won't need it for a few months.

Hi Sonny,

Does the baby brother have detergent injection? I found that feature to clean far better than just steam alone. If so I would love to borrow it for a bit, so I can clean the underside of my 87 once Daniels car is off my lift.

I could have cleaned more, but I'm happy with the results.

Adam,

Looks great. I find a pump up weed sprayer with a pre mixed solution presprayed gives great results. Chemical gets a good dwell time that way.

I don't think my unit has a chemical injection and if it did I've probably lost the parts....lol. It is made by menikini. Good unit. Let me know.

thanks

Sonny

I was hoping Dry ice detailing would be a bigger hit - I own the domain and was hoping to sell it.
