Every item has a price point at which supply equals demand. I guess Porsche has now gone beyond that point in my estimation. At close to 10% of the car's cost it is hard to swallow. Have no doubt however that there will still be plenty of demand.

It's just an ADM by another name. I'm sure plenty of the 'I'll never pay an ADM' crowd will bend over and pay to get the jellybean color they crave and still think they 'got my car at MSRP!'

Now one who really wants PTS will do it because it is for all the right reasons and not to profit because risk increases

I'm so glad I only stretch my legs as far as the length of my blanket allows me. I'd hate to leave my toes out in the cold. I'm also glad the car sounds and feels the same from the driver's seat,no matter what color it comes in.

That's pretty much right. Porsche is just raising the price of the car because they KNOW that people are willing to pay more as evidenced by the ADM. The MSRP is too low.

Build 991 of them, and charge $300K each. Won't mean they're worth $300K, but that's what the limited market thinks they're worth.

Holy crap! Toyota Voodoo Blue is not worth $13k. I'm glad I chose October Euro Delivery vs moving my build date to get PTS. That's freaking insane. I suspect PTS cars suddenly became less popular.

I was told a new person was taking over Porsche Exclusive in the US a few weeks ago. Maybe this is one of his first moves?
If they lift customer service and quality, I think it's fine.
I've thought for a longtime Porsche Exclusive was terribly run and a joke of an offering vs MSO etc. Maybe that changes now and true custom becomes available - I would happily pay $13k+ if you can truly get any color you want (Fraise, Aubergine, Tangerine, Signal Orange etc) vs the current PTS color approval process.

Hmmm........ don't know what to think . When I ordered my RS and couldn't get PTS I splurged on a lot of Exclusive paint and decals and have to admit I felt like an idiot spending what I did ; $5005 for painted wheels , $1900 for painted RS scripts on the hub caps , and $1400 for painted mirror caps . Decals seemed cheap relative to those . Just like the guys who got PTS for $5500 I wonder if what I paid for Exclusive work will seem quaint this time around . Update to this post : while typing this I tell my wife Porsche raised the PTS cost to almost 13k - response '' who cares in the greater scheme of things it's nothing - look what the car costs '' Maybe that is how it will really be received by most buyers .
